FPES21TDF0 Frigidaire Refrigerator - Instructions

Based on the website I decided it was most probably the defrost timer, and that was correct. I ordered it, watched the video, and two days later the part was at my door. Took the nut driver, removed 4 screws, then removed the old defrost timer, installed the new one, re-installed the whole plastic assembly with the four screws, and done!!! Couldn't have been easier.

just had to loosen the old, broken piece, and snap in the replacement. Piece of cake

Snapped in missing brackets, cut bar to fit and installed.

Since the end caps were already broken I just took them out & put the new ones in. Total time to do this was less than 5 minutes. Great parts, great prices & super fast shipping

Dear Part-select,
I had a fridge that was not working food was melting in the freezer, Beer was warm. You get the picture anyway using your site I found the parts needed to to fix the issue in fact I ordered two parts one fixed the issue 50% and the other like 30% of the time! both parts with overnight shipping were cheaper than 1 part if purchased at our local appliance part outlet:) not to mention the cost of a repair person. Just snapped in the wholes and pushed it down a little bit and there it was. It only took 2 minutes. Very simple process- price was supper and delivery was very fast.

Replaced the old end cap with the new one. Took less than a minute.

Moved the old gasket aside to gain access to retaining screws in top freezer door. The new seal in the container we received was twisted, so laid it flat and used a hair dryer (as you advised) to regain the proper shape. Did everything possible, to align the gasket. Opened the freezer door to remove the retaining screws, began to reinstall the new gasket. The top came down both sides well. Attempted to install screws across the bottom, the gasket was so twisted would not conform back into the retaining frame on the bottom of the door. Therefore, it fits poorly. No proper seal. Sincerely, Jesse & Mary(also, the bottom of the freezer door plastic form was very brittle, broke where the screws fit....so we had to make a piece formed like a strip to re-enforce the areas that 'cracked' off so as the screws could align the bottom areas.

Snapped the end caps onto the existing shelf, and eased the assembly into the door slots. Light tapping with a hammer was required to fully seat the assembly into the door. All in all, a straightforward and simple repair.

The plastic ends that held the shelf on broke off, once my new ends came in the mail I had to attach them to the metal bar that holds the condiments in the door's shelf. To do this I had to hammer the ends of the shelf a little to get the caps to fit. Once they were on I put the ends of the caps into the holes on the door and had to push down with some force to get them to snap in. Very easy once I realized I had to push harder than I expected to get them to snap in. It's great to have my shelf back!

Traced issue to defrost timer ( burned compressor & element contacts). This unit is mounted next to the temperature adjustment control in the refridgerator area - right in front. Removal of plastic cover provided easy access to the timer. Unit unscrews from the mounting then unplugs. Installation is reverse of removal.

Ordered a new defroster timer and replace old one. It works just fine. A $35 repair vs a $500 new appliance.

snapped in the one end, placed the bar in one end and the other clip on the other end and snapped it in place.
