Icemaker quit making ice, clicking noise coming from lower rear of appliance
If this happens to you the first thing I would do is shut off the freezer and, using a hair dryer, melt the ice in the ice maker and heat up the water inlet to make sure it is not froze up. Turn the freezer back on and wait to see if that cures the problem. If not, order the new water inlet valve and follow the simple instructions in the video provided on the PartSelect website. I have never have a more pleasant experience with any parts/repair service than I did with PartSelect. After ordering that part it came within the time they stated and their help with the install was great. Also helpful were the other customers talking about their problems and solutions. Thanks to PartSelect I now have Ice and a happy wife. Happy wife--happy life.

Quite making ice
The new inlet valve came with pisco connectors so had to cut the end of the tubes off. Before doing this I marked all the tubes to make sure they were replaced in the correct order. The pisco connectors are great to use and very quick. The total install time was about 20 to 30 minutes. While you have the back of the frig off make sure you vaccuum the fan and coils. It was making ice in less than 20 minutes.

No Water For Ice Maker Or Drinking
Repair as illustrated was right on. Repair was easy. No problem except still no water for ice or drinking. The valve was not the problem. Filter was replaced prior to valve replacement. Must be a electric switch some where. 3 Yrs ago I have replaced the water activation plastic lever for drinking which was a bit difficult and it turned out ok.

Water leaking from dispenser
Used a nut driver to remove the small panal from the back of the refrigerator. Removed the two screws holding the valve in place. Unscrewed the water lines from the old valve and cut the ends off of them. Push the water lines back into the new valve. Unpluged the wiring from the old valve and installed them in the new valve. reinstalled the new valve and put the cover back on. Tested system for proper operation.

Very weak water pressure from dispenser, hollow ice cubes
I diagnosed the problem by checking the water flow at the supply valve and hose by disconnecting the hose from the back of the fridge. Found the pressure to be adequate. I then reconnected the supply hose and removed the cardboard backing from the fridge and removed the nuts holding the water inlet valve to the chassis. I loosened the first hose that runs from the bottom of the valve and had my wife activate the valve by pushing the water switch on the front of the fridge. Water basically sputtered out of the valve and I decided that was where the problem was. I ordered the valve from partselect. When it arrived I thought it was the wrong part because it had push-fittings whereas my original valve was all thumb screws. I took a chance and one by one used a utility knife to cut the hose free of the old valve as close to the nut as possible. Connecting them to the new valve was a piece of cake! Just make sure the hose bottoms out when you push it in. I turned the water back on, no leaks! Plugged the fridge in and pushed it back to the wall. After a bit of air bled out I had a strong flow of wateragain like new! The next day the ice cubes were solid again! We use the filtered water so many times a day and had been so frustrated with the slow water flow we had considered donating the fridge and buying a new one; thanks to this easy fix we expect keep it for years to come!

Water dripped from water dispenser after use
Pulled fridge away from wall and unplugged. Turned off main water supply feed and removed fitting from water inlet valve. Took off back panel by removing 3 screws. Took out 2 screws holding valve to fridge. Pulled off color coded wire clips. Unscrewed each water tube connector. New valve had quick connectors so had to snip off flared ends of tubing with utility knife. Pushed tubing firmly into new valve fittings and pulled to ensure connection. Reattached wiring and reattached valve to fridge with the 2 screws. Reconnected water feed line and turned on main water feed. Checked for leaks before replacing back panel. Done. No more dripping from water dispenser.

Ice Maker stopped working
Realized Ice Maker was not getting water during it's cycle and suspected water valve based on other posts to this web site. My fridge is 9 years old and the tubes connecting the valve were plastic screw on type. The new valve did not have threads to accept the nuts. Turns out all I had to do was cut the nuts off and insert the water tubes into the valve which auto-locked the tubes to the valve. Ice maker now works great.

The ice maker quit making ice.
I noticed that the two gears weren't meshing together so upon inspection I saw that one of the gears had an inner piece missing making it weak so it kept popping out away from the other great. I ordered the new gear and unscrewed the old one off and put the new one on. So easy. It made Ice beautiful after that

Clogged Filter
Once the filter arrived, I pushed it in that releases a latch and removed the clogged filter. I then pushed in the new filter and when it clicked, I ran a few cups of water through it to clear any debris left from manufacturing and the job was finished. Less than 15 minutes.

Leaking water
My part had threaded fittings. The part that I received had snap fittings. Once I realized that that snap fittings worked with the bare tubing and not any special tip endings, I simply cut off the ends of my tubing that mated with the threaded fittings. I then had bare tubing that snapped into the snap fittings. Two minutes later, the part was in place and the job was done. Problem solved.
