FFHT2126LM3 Frigidaire Refrigerator - Instructions

I removed the housing at the top of the refrigerator compartment that contained the reefer light and temperature adjustment knob. This required a small nut-driver. Inside, I found the old defrost control, unplugged it, unscrewed it with a Phillips screwdriver, and replaced it with the replacement part. Then I replaced the housing to its original position.

First I removed the plastic grill (pulled out, no screws) from bottom of refrigerator, then I removed electrical plug & two screws from old timer (timer located on the front inside left lower side of refrigerator). Installed in reverse order.

I started look inside ,disconnected power, and open all possible compartments to see any burned part. Fortunately I fined a small part look like melted and then i went online and make my research .Then i ordered that part and change it.

The repair itself total time was quick and easy. Since the original fan blade blew apart, it was only a matter of putting the new one on in it's place. This can be done by feeding the blade between the cowling and Condenser coil and applying pressure to get it on the shaft.

If your fan is still on the shaft, simply push it off and extract it the same way. Then place the new one on the shaft.

In my case, since the part would take a couple days to get, and I had food both in the fridge and the freezer, I removed and unplugged the Condenser Fan Motor and the cowling frame and temporarily spliced a small fan I had into the line for the condenser motor. This kept the fridge working long enough to get the replacement part.

Side note. Direction of airflow is towards the Compressor, and draws air across the Condenser coils.

The Pan was a direct swap, as well as the shelf bin. No tools necessary. I'm sure that a repair person would have cost me double what I paid for the same repair.

purchased a new freezer gasket. It is still iceing in the freezer but now all over the top part and down the back. The new gasket does not secure tight enough around the entire freezer door when it is closed. It is secured properly to the door but does not "grab" tight enough when the freezer door is closed.

I can't believe I put if off so long... so easy to do and PartSelect was very fast, efficient, and the cheapest vendor for my part.

removed both the shelf retainer and shelf bin, replace with the new units ordered from partselet.com. the whole process from searching, ordering, shipping and installing was very easy... thanks for everything

I removed the plastic shroud on the ceiling of the refigerator, unscrewed and unplugged the old defrost timer, and replaced it with the new one. I reinstalled the shroud with the new timer installed.

It was soooo easy. I simply clicked the shelf in place! Thank you so much for all of your help. I love this website!

The knob came in the plastic package. It was the correct part. I opened the package and placed the knob on the prongs. Now it works fine.

Just snapped into place

i live in Manhattan and it is so difficult to go and find a repair store that has the things you need for the specific model number. i went online and found partselect.com they had a very nice and easy search engine and gave me all the parts that goes with my fridge i just gave them my model number. i placed my order and got it 2 days after.. the shipment fee was 6 dollar i saved the taxi money going and coming i might have had even had to go to multiple store before i can find my part.

well, the retainer broke off, so I waited for the new part to come, and when it came, all I had to do was put it on. putting it on took like a second. there were two hooks that the shelf hooked on, so it was really easy.
