Ice Maker not producing / Clicking / Off-cycle
We love our ice here. I seem to replace the ice makers one to two times a year. Generally the ice cycle gets off for some reason and it starts making loud popping/clicking noises (gear grinding). Its easy to replace. Simply loosen two screws holding the unit to inside of freezer and disconnecting the wiring harness. Unit slide up and out. Replacement is super easy (5 mins or less). Bam! Ice!

Original icemaker quit working.
The instructions that came with the replacement icemaker were very complete, in particular concerning the small levelling bracket on the bottom of the icemaker, because the old bracket needed to be removed from the old icemaker and transferred to the new one. This part of the installation might not have been obvious, so I was glad to see it clearly outlined in the instructions. The old icemaker was removed by loosening two nuts and detaching the electrical connector, and the new one was installed in its place. Fairly simple, the whole job took about 45 minutes because I work slowly and carefully. A more confident person could probably have the new one installed in 15 minutes. Only drawback: about three to four weeks after installing the new icemaker it has begun making a loud clicking noise on occasions. It is a repetitive (5 second interval) clicking, and only happens for about a minute every few hours and then stops. I am concerned that it might be gears prematurely wearing out and slipping. I guess I'll know in a few weeks if this one stops making ice.********************************************* Update: after about 9 months the new icemaker quit working and will need to be replaced. I removed the front cover from the icemaker and could clearly see that the teeth of one of the plastic gears were worn out and no longer meshing with the opposite gear. The drive gear was just spinning in place and making no contact with the larger gear.

Shelves wobble and gasket leaked..
I replaced the shelf end caps in the shelves of my fridge and I also replaced the gasket around the door.

Every time I would open the door, things would fall out because the shelves were giving, because the end caps were broken. Once I got the new ones, I was amazed that these parts are still available and that they lock right in with no problem. Once you get one in, you then have to place one end of that retaining bar into that, very tightly, making sure the end is completely secure in the cap. Then you can lock the other cap to the other end, lock it into place in the door and whala! It is just that simple.

Now the gaket is another story, it is best to soak the gasket in hot water first to draw it up abit so it will be snug and also to use lubricant such as petroleum around the inside where it is going to fit to the door. This made it extremely easy to afix to my door with no problems. I am so glad for this site.. hundreds of dollars saved!!

Replace the gasket around the freezer door ($122.00 NEW GASKET)
Moved the old gasket aside to gain access to retaining screws in top freezer door. The new seal in the container we received was twisted, so laid it flat and used a hair dryer (as you advised) to regain the proper shape. Did everything possible, to align the gasket. Opened the freezer door to remove the retaining screws, began to reinstall the new gasket. The top came down both sides well. Attempted to install screws across the bottom, the gasket was so twisted would not conform back into the retaining frame on the bottom of the door. Therefore, it fits poorly. No proper seal. Sincerely, Jesse & Mary(also, the bottom of the freezer door plastic form was very brittle, broke where the screws fit....so we had to make a piece formed like a strip to re-enforce the areas that 'cracked' off so as the screws could align the bottom areas.

The fridge had very long wire plus needed adapter wire. Needed longer zip ties than those included with unit.
Followed on line video. Also water supply tube on fridge was full of ice. You can pull it out and run hot water on it to clear.

Over the past 6 months, I noticed we were getting less and less ice. Finally it just stopped all together.
I found that the fill solenoid for the ice maker was down to a drip when energized. I ordered from this site and replaced. now plenty of water, but the ice maker would just stall and jump teeth. The heater which heats the ice up to free it from the mold was defective. Ordered from this site, and now working great.this sitet has good pricing, and the help illustration is great, and explains the sequence of events. This made it easy to troubleshoot. This refrigerator has not give a problem in over 11 years. The problem is "the ice maker". I have replaced it 6 times.

No freezing or cold in either freezer or refridgerator - compressor did not run.
Traced issue to defrost timer ( burned compressor & element contacts). This unit is mounted next to the temperature adjustment control in the refridgerator area - right in front. Removal of plastic cover provided easy access to the timer. Unit unscrews from the mounting then unplugs. Installation is reverse of removal.

Bottom shelf (beverage shelf, large bottles, etc.) was unuseable because the plastic end caps were cracked. The metal shelf bar was intact though.
We have a wonderful Kelvinator refrigerator. It has served us tirelessly for more than 15 years - and looks as good as new! (We frequently clean it out and clean the interior and exterior, to keep it looking and smelling clean)

Replacement of the end caps and shelf was very easy!

The broken end caps were removed (missing for years), and it became one of those small projects that one never gets around to. I finally took down the model number and looked online for it. Google or Yahoo (can't remember which) pointed us to you site. I was SHOCKED to see that the parts were still available! I called your friendly customer order line and had a very pleasant experience placing the order. The BIGGEST shock came when the parts arrived THE NEXT DAY!! Just in time for Thanksgiving! You are AWESOME!

The Repair:

Easy as pie. The end caps simply snap into place. I did the left side first, then carefully inserted the metal bar, which is supported by the two end caps. Next I snapped in the right side cap - DONE. It took longer to clean the bar up, than it did to replace the caps!

The Results:

The bottom door shelf is now useable again. We can place 2 liter beverages and juice containers on the door, where they belong! My wife cheered and commented, "The refrigerator is no longer an eye sore when I open it!" :-)

Thank you Parts Select!!!!
