FRS20QRCD9 Frigidaire Refrigerator - Instructions

Thermostat-Thawed freezer, took out drawers and loosened drawer track(back screw)to help remove back panel. Removed five screws from back panel with nut driver and slide panel up and out. Removed thermostat from coils. Two wire connectors pulled apart. Spring loaded connection on coil pulled off. Placed new part from partselect.(reversing sequence) Timer-Took two screws out from behind kickplate at bottom left of freezer. Pulled connector thermostat out of connector. Replaced with new timer. Turned plastic dial on timer until it clicked. Frig turned on, one week ago. Everything appears to be fine.If it doesn't freeze up in the next two weeks, I will start feeling real good.

Unplug freezer let stand all night to defrost. Remove the tray cover which is located on the upper back area inside the freezer.( 3 twist fittings remove it ). Remove the upper stainless steel panel which is secured with 6 screws. This will drop down exposing the condenser. Note all the wires and fan will stay attached to the stainless steel panel, this panel will drop down no need to unplug anything. On the left upper side next to the condenser you will see the thermostat. Two color coded wires. Remove the thermostat and install the new one at the same location.

I followed the You-Tube instructions, removed the ice from the compressor and replaced the thermostat with the part I received from Part Select. What I took out was a part that was very much inferior to the replacement part. The repair saved me a lot of money for a new freezer and it was not difficult to do following the video. Now the freezer runs better and quieter than ever. Thank you Parts Select.

I order defrost timer then replaced it but it seemed doesn't work. I order defrost thermostat again then it worked fine until now. Thanks. Part selects.

Unplug the refrigerator. Removed the right hand top shelf. Used a 1/4" nutdriver to remove rear center mounting screw for Control Housing. Used Phillips screwdriver to remove two mounting screws for timer. Unplug cable from timer and plug it into the new timer. Install the new timer and re-install the Control Housing. Plug in the refrigerator and adjust the timer to start the unit. This was a snap with the diagnostic provided by Part Select. At first I thought it was the fan rubbing but when I removed the cover (two screws) it was obvious that wasn't the problem. The diagnostic hinted that it was either the timer or the motor capacitor making the noise. Because the noise continued after turning OFF the control, I thought it was the timer...I was right.

Watched video on Part Select which shows you how to replace the thermostat with several good pointers. Very easily done and now the freezer works great.

The rod, that looks a like a oven heater element, had burnt into and was not defrosting the coolant coils in the freezer was freezing up. I took the back panel off from inside the freezer and let it unthraw. The freezer coils were held into a frame with only two screws which I took out. I unplugged the heater element and easily pulled the coils out as little as possible, taking care not to break the copper rods with the freon inside them. On each side of the coils I had to take off a silver aluminum strip that held the element close to the coils so I could get it away from the coils so I could pull the heater rod straight down. I then fished the new piece up through the coils,which is a little tricky because of not room to move,then put the strips back, pushed the coils back into place and attached the screws and hooked the heater element back. Screwed the back panel on and it worked fine. This was my first fridge repair.

Took a while to get the front off the drawer, but once we did, it slid right into the part you sent and YOU SAVED ME MONEY! Thank you so much!

Ordered parts and three days later the parts were at my door. Took longer to clean stuff out than to replace the drawer supports.

Purchased switch and socket, not sure which had failed. Moved all frozen food to refrigerator, turned off breaker. Used nutdriver to remove two screws holding box containing switch and socket. Removed old switch and socket. Removal was slightly difficult since cabling came off both sides of the box. Installed new switch and socket and bulb. Turned breaker back on, checked light as workiing. Replaced scrrews to re-intstall switch box ( or whatever you call it ) Closed door and waited for freezer to cool. Returned all frozen food to freezer. Job Done
