FRT26XGCD1 Frigidaire Refrigerator - Instructions

Removed old tray by hand, replace with new tray by hand. This web site was BY FAR the easiest to navigate to find the right part. Shipping was extremely fast, received the part the very next day without special shipping. THANKS for the "EASY" button.

first, disconnected the power, turned off the water, marked the supply hoses 1 for water 1 for ice, removed the hoses and the supply water hose, and the wires, remove 2 holding screws from the valve, attached the new dual valve only needed 1 screw (due to the improved design) attached the wiring, and the marked hoses. and supply line to the new valve. put the frig back in place reset the ice maker. The next morning the ice bin was 1/2 way full. This unit is 15 years old and works like brand new now.

Turned off water, unplugged refrigerator, Removed defective unit with support bracket. Installed support bracket, adjusted flow screw per instructions, plugged in wiring with adapter, hung on screws, tighened screws, secured excess wiring harness (making sure it did not hang below icemaker per instuctions), turned on water, plugged in refrigerator. Comment it took a few hours to start making ice, air in line? After a couple of days seems to be working fine.

I could hear the pump activating....the sound of the pump, but no water coming to the ice maker.
Finally, a minor flood in the basement, below the fridge. Pressure in the water line from the pump up the back of the fridge to the area of the ice maker...let go, sending water all over the place.
I had tried emptying the contents of the fridge and the freezer to attempt to let the line thaw, in case that was the problem, but I hadn't waited long enough. It took 2 days to thaw the frozen water in the line to the ice maker..... but that was the problem.
Interesting! the fridge and frezzer have independent thermostats, but when I turned down the freezer thermostat...the fridge went warm as well . The dual outlet water valve I bought, I'll just keep.

Refrigerator started frosting up and running all the time.I'd defrost it and it would frost up again in about a week.The timer seems to be work so I just guest it mite be the Defrost Thermostat.I removed the duck in the center and back panel in the freezer compartment defrosted it and switched Thermostats and replaced panel and duck, going to lower compartment of the refrigerator.So far it seems to be working a little more time while tell.

The repair took only 5 minutes. I removed the ice bin, which just slides out, then loosened 2 screws at the back-top of the ice maker. I then unplugged the broken ice maker, removed it, put in the new one, re-tightened the screws and plugged it in. It was making ice within an hour.

The service man that I hired to fix my Ice maker removed the broken one. This is how I saw how easy it was to install. When the new one arrived all I had to do was plug it in then tighten 2 screws with the right size nut driver. This was the hardest part of the install havng the right tool for the job. Now I have Ice!

It was just a simple replacement, three nuts to loosen , a slight adjustment on the timer and reversal installation...As simple as replacing a light bulb! You needn't be a brain surgeon to do this job! Your installation video was very helpful....Thank you PartSelect Chuck McCann

installed new ice maker. Was very esay - the only problem I had was the length of the wire, due to the need to use the adapter, was hard to menauver around so that it didn't contact the bottom of the ice maker. Would be best if it was configured so that you had the right wire connection and didn't have to use the adaptor.

The screws holding the ice maker in place were backed out about a turn and a half or so. The icemaker was raised about 1/2 inch to clear the bolt heads. The icemaker was extended just enough to access the wiring harness connector. The connector was released, and the ice maker was removed. The replacement unit extension was unneeded. The wiring harness connector was attached, and the wire was wire-tied out of the way. The icemaker unit was placed over the screw heads, rested in place and the screws were tightened (only snug). Easy-peasy!

The repair was a simple swap of icemakers with a 1/4" nutdriver. I didnt get the first unit sent after 7 days, so I called PartSelect. They were very courteous and understanding. My icemaker arrived within 12 hours of my phone call! Excellent!

My husband did the repair, it was so easy, and of course because you made the broken parts available it saved us the money for a new refridgerator. It took him less than half an hour to get the job done. Thanks for making this easy for us.

was very easy. just ordered a new ice maker which was delivered in a few days. The installation was so simple. Just plugged the new ice maker in and hung the unit on the 2 screws. And then tightened the screws with a 1/4 in nut driver.
