Snapping noise from bottom of refridgerator door bottom hinge.
First I looked up and called Fridgedaire. They were absolutely no help at all. No diagrams and no intelligent help.
When I found your site there was an IPB (Illustrated Parts Breakdown) diagram that helped me find the parts that I suspected as being the problem. When I found them and added them to my cart I found several comments from people who had the same problem and the same remedy to the problem. I ordered the parts, I could have got away with just replacing the door closure bearing, but I figured that the prudent thing to do while ordering parts and disassembling the door was to replace both.
I was extremley pleased with the parts service as within three days of ordering the parts they were at my home and the repair was completed.
The repair was very easy. Removed the items from the door storage, removed the upper hinge pulled the door, removed the door stop, replaced the door closure bearing reinstalled the pieces and then reinstalled the door. Piece of cake. Spent more time getting the tools together and emptying the items stored on the door then replacing the parts.

The drum ice maker broke in half so it couldn't dependent the ice.
I had removed the housing that the drum was in and taken the screws out to get to the broken drum. I removed it there was a set of 6 blades that crushed the ice that had to go back on the same order when I removed these I put them on a piece of wire in the order they came off (so I would get them back I the correct order). Then I reversed the order and reassembled it in the opposite direction . It was fairly easy to do. I'm a 68 year old disabled woman so if I could do it I'm sure you could to. Good luck. It cost me $14.00 if I had bought the whole assembly it would have been $150.00. So it was well worth my time and effort.

Ice dispensers (cube or crush) stopped working, plastic auger drive separated from auger shaft. Would run but not dispense ice.
Watched repair video on plastic auger repair and decided to just invest in the whole replacement unit. 45 minute vs. a 5 minute repair.....no brainer. Removed shipping materials from new dispenser, placed on counter top. Removed old ice dispenser, dumped existing ice into new dispenser. Installed new dispenser with ice back into freezer. Tested and unit now dispenses ice.. Easiest fix I've done to date.

There was a horrendous popping noise when I opened the refrigerator door.
First I cleaned out the side door then, removed the three screws on top of the door. Lifted the door off and set it carefully on a kitchen mat.

I had to use the pliers to remove the existing bearing hinge as it had disintegrated in the door. Once it was out the new hinge slid right into place and I reinstalled the door. I had help with the door. It’s much easier with two people to get proper alignment and to hold it in place while you reattach the screws.

I would have to say the hardest part of this repair was cleaning out the refrigerator.

Switch would not allow door to close.
Removed screws holding unit and removed unit. Removed switch from connectors in unit. Replaced unit without switch. On day switch arrived (delivery was prompt) my wife replaced switch by attaching the two connectors and slipping into unit without having to remove entire unit. How easy was that!!!

Icemaker not pushing out ice
Consult the exploded view of the Ice Container on this site. A likely cause the end plate (17) is worn. This plate connects the rotating corkscrew to the final plastic worm that pushes the ice into the crusher and thence to your waiting glass. The worm alone will not do the trick. To replace this plate, you need to take out all of the screws you can see, including the one that holds the spring for the crusher select bar.. First, the front cover, then the plate, and finally, locking ring from the worm and the black housing for the crusher. Now you can remove the whole worm assembly. Using a cloth or rubber insulator to protect it, unscrew the end screw and slide off the crusher teeth. Store on the table as a unit to facilitate re-assembly. Slide off the old bar and worm, put them back, and re-assemble. Takes a little dexterity to get the crusher select bar back, but not hard. Easy job.

The housing on the filter cup was cracked
I removed the old housing (three screws) , pulled it out about three inches and discounnected the two water lines. Then I put the new one on, attached the two water lines & I had water immediately & ice within a couple of hours.
Really it was a no brainer, but I'm sure I saved at least $50 doing it myself.

My grandkids broke the water dispenser in the refrigerator door.
The repair was easy. It just required a little time and patience. There are about a half dozen screws to remove and three of them are very small. I woild suggest a phillips head screwdriver with a magnetic tip for the small screws. They can easly fall into the control unit and be hidden. If they happen to fall, a small pen-type magnet that is expandable will make it easy to retrieve. I used a small set of needle-nose pliers to replace the small metal plates over the plastic pins that hold the water actuator in place. If your are careful, this repair can be done without disconnecting any of the electrical wiring.
