ice maker is stuck on crushed ice.
We had someone to come and look at it and we were told it was the solenoid valve. The repairman unstuck it for us and said when it does it again, he would have to order the part. We took it upon ourselves to order the part and DIY. We replaced the part that we were told was the problem and "guess what" it's still not fixed. It's still shooting out crushed ice. Will have to call repair guy back out here to see what we did wrong.

Every part of the ice crusher (blades and housing) bent/broke in successive failures
This was the last step of serial repairs to the ice crusher portion of the ice maker. I have practically replaced the entire assembly. All the blades were installed incorrectly (at factory? Afterwards?) and had bent. That caused problems for other parts. I hadn't noticed that the housing was weakened and my prior repair I did something dumb and the door on housing wasn't closing properly, so it snapped. I bought a new housing and installed it. My #1 tip is WATCH THE VIDEO! There are some things that have to be put together just so. You need things to line up and be under slight tension from springs. Last time I had it under too much tension. The door got in the way of the blades and broke. So this time I was more careful to do it correctly. Everything is working perfectly now. This design is clever, and I feel like I can diagnose and fix it again in future. "Steve's" instructional videos are a huge help. He shows exactly what to do.

Needed more usable space in refrigerator
I went to Frigidaire first requesting a new shelf as I needed more usable space inside the refrigerator. Despite only being a few years old, but purchased during early COVID years when it was hard to get anything due to supply chain issues etc., the refrigerator company said they no longer were making and didn’t have a way to get a replacement for a new shelf. I did a web search and found this company. I was worried due to reading a few negative reviews, but I have to say I was ultra impressed. My package came earlier than expected. It was super securely wrapped in two layers of bubble wrap and in a secure sealed box. I had it unwrapped, washed it and dried it and in the refrigerator in less than 10 minutes. I now feel like I have plenty of space for leftovers, drinks, etc. that I didn’t have before. I am very satisfied.

Ice Maker was making ice erratically
After sending PartSelect the info to their troubleshooting dept. about my ice maker, they recommended replacing the ice solenoid. I did so at a cost of $102. No change, turned out replacing the ice maker(did not purchase from PartsSelect) was the issue and works fine now.

So wasted $102. FYI the part took 6 days to arrive.

Freezer leaked, no water disp. & Crusher didnt crush
First I defrosted the entire unit, both sides for 24 hours. Restarted, I now have water dispensing. (It had apparently frozen) Next I took out the ice crushing part and took it apart, (a few screws) by removing the broken floppy piece; the small plastic floppy door that allows ice to crush, replaced this small piece, rather than replacing the entire big plastic piece that I ordered. Used a slot screw driver removed the old floppy piece that was broken and removed the same piece from the new one and switched them out. Reassembled the entire unit (a few screws), put the ice back in and it works great. I got the instructions for taking apart this from this site, however, it was fairly easy to figure out. Just be patient with the plastic parts.
