FRT26XGCB2 Frigidaire Refrigerator - Instructions

I loosened the 2 1/4 inch nuts with a nut driver, disconnected the wire harness, and removed the old unit. to replace, I simply connected the harness and bolted the unit back in. The job took about 10 to 15 minutes and the new unit works better than the old one ever did.

A little research told me the hum plus no cooling was either the compressor or the relay. I ordered the new relay and put it in but it didn't fix the problem. I ended up having to buy a new fridge, but it was worth the $30 gamble to see if I could fix it on the cheap and it saved me the money a service call would've cost. Pretty easy installation, just in a tight space on my model.

It was very simple, used a nut driver to loosen the attachment nuts that held the ice maker in place. Disconnected the wiring harness. Removed the leveling tab from old ice maker and attached it to the new one. Then reassembled in the reverse order. As they say it was no brainer! The best part of the repair, was hearing the ice dump.

Removed 2 screws that hold ice maker in place. Unplugged and took out of freezer. Used the screws I took out to put new ice maker in. Plugged in the power and in 2 days I had a full ice bin and haven't had any worries since. Should have replaced the broken one along time ago but thought that the process was harder than this. Very easy and suggest this to anyone having ice maker issues. Less than $100 and never have to buy ice for the house again.

I watch the how to repair video on line and the repair went very quick and easy.It was just like the video,no hidden suprises.

I first ordered the wrong switch I called and got a return label and was refunded my money before even shipping the wrong switch I was helped for the right switch and it arrived in 5 days the replacement works perfectly very easy to install. Thank you

I found that the fill solenoid for the ice maker was down to a drip when energized. I ordered from this site and replaced. now plenty of water, but the ice maker would just stall and jump teeth. The heater which heats the ice up to free it from the mold was defective. Ordered from this site, and now working great.this sitet has good pricing, and the help illustration is great, and explains the sequence of events. This made it easy to troubleshoot. This refrigerator has not give a problem in over 11 years. The problem is "the ice maker". I have replaced it 6 times.

Followed on line video. Also water supply tube on fridge was full of ice. You can pull it out and run hot water on it to clear.

Loosened 2 screws, lifted icemaker brackets off of loosened retaining screws, unplugged electrical connector from the icemaker.
plugged in the supplied jumper harness & connected to the new icemaker, hung it on the loosened screws, secured the 2 screws.
Dranke beer & listened to my new icemaker rock & roll.
No further problems, Frigie like new.
The price was the cheapest I could find. $78.00 total including shipping.
A little girl could replace this unit.

I removed the retainer bar from the freezer door and unclipped the broken end cap (the clips were broken). I snapped the new one into place and snapped the retainer bar back into the freezer door.

After determining the ice maker was getting water but not harvesting the ice, I ordered a replacement Ice Maker. Installation was easy. One electrical connection and two screws. Following the video to make sure I did not miss any steps I had ice in just a few hours. Just in time for a July heat wave!

Turned off water, unplugged refrigerator, Removed defective unit with support bracket. Installed support bracket, adjusted flow screw per instructions, plugged in wiring with adapter, hung on screws, tighened screws, secured excess wiring harness (making sure it did not hang below icemaker per instuctions), turned on water, plugged in refrigerator. Comment it took a few hours to start making ice, air in line? After a couple of days seems to be working fine.

first, disconnected the power, turned off the water, marked the supply hoses 1 for water 1 for ice, removed the hoses and the supply water hose, and the wires, remove 2 holding screws from the valve, attached the new dual valve only needed 1 screw (due to the improved design) attached the wiring, and the marked hoses. and supply line to the new valve. put the frig back in place reset the ice maker. The next morning the ice bin was 1/2 way full. This unit is 15 years old and works like brand new now.

I could hear the pump activating....the sound of the pump, but no water coming to the ice maker.
Finally, a minor flood in the basement, below the fridge. Pressure in the water line from the pump up the back of the fridge to the area of the ice maker...let go, sending water all over the place.
I had tried emptying the contents of the fridge and the freezer to attempt to let the line thaw, in case that was the problem, but I hadn't waited long enough. It took 2 days to thaw the frozen water in the line to the ice maker..... but that was the problem.
Interesting! the fridge and frezzer have independent thermostats, but when I turned down the freezer thermostat...the fridge went warm as well . The dual outlet water valve I bought, I'll just keep.
