When I was ready to instal fan motor, I noticed that there was no thread where I was supposed to screw in the bolts
When i found out there was no thread in brace where bolts were supposed to screw in, I panicked. I thought I would have to send part back or go to a machine shop to make a thread. I called a friend for help and he told me the bolts would make the thread if I just screwed them in. Sure enough, the bolts made the thread and then I just proceeded to instal motor and put refrigerator back together. It was simple.

My freezer quit working. The power light was on but nothing worked.
I paid about $50 for a tech to come to the house to troubleshoot the freezer. He id'd the temp control unit in about 30 minutes and told me he could repair the freezer for an additional $300 or so. I told him 'no'. I looked up the part number with partselect and ordered the temp control unit for about $40 including shipping. I simply plugged in the unit and reset the rear compartment panel and gaskets. I plugged the unit in. The freezer ran but did not freeze. I inspected the rear of the freezer and found that the tech had left the compressor unplugged. I connected the compressor and turned the freezer on, It is working just fine.

unit dead except for the light
Found voltage coming into unit but not making it through the control unit. Thermo switch could easly be bypassed with no results so only thing left was the control mod. It was worth the $51.00 guess , ordered the part with credit card about noon, the next day Fed Ex came to the door about 2 PM the freezer was running by 2:30. Very impressed by everyone envolved. Spent the rest of the day bragging about my repair ability. Felt good to hear that baby fire up. Thanks again

Fan would not start occasionally
I unscrewed the screws that held the old fan on, disconnected the wiring harness and removed the old fan. I pulled the blades off the motor and put it on the new fan. One thing of note, the screw holes on the new fan weren't threaded. I assume this is by design, so I used the screws to thread the holes before installing it in the freezer. Once I did this, the rest of the installation was easy, just screw it back in and connect the wiring harness.
