WRS26MF8JS1 Crosley Refrigerator - Instructions

Followed instructions for this part from this site and things went well.

Remove the bottom freezer drawer. Remove back metal evaporator panel. Wire in new defrost terminationT-stat. Reassemble evap panel. Good to go.

We considered tape and glue, but we knew that it would look like crap and wouldn't last. Fortunately the bin had a part number on it, so it was easy to order the correct part and it fit perfectly.

2 steps; 1. I removed the broken door bin 2. I slid the new door bin in place, Am I a genius or what!

I ordered the parts by studying the diagram and they were perfect. Thanks for making it so easy.

I replaced the items myself, there was not much to it. I must comment on the sight. It was very interactive and easy to use!

After taking the complete motor, tray, icemaker, etc out and finding no problem, I then finally checked for power at the connector at the top of the icemaker. I concluded that there was no pwoer going to the motor. I then removed the circiut board and found the relay for the auger was not working. Putting the new board in took 10-15 min. and then the auger started to work.

I replaced the bulb using my hands to twist the bulb in the socket located at the top of the refrigerator.

First I obtained the manual to the refrigerator. I identified the screws to be removed. I turned off the water then unplugged the water lines. I then replaced the Water Filter Base and reassemble the parts. Within minutes of turning on the water, water and ice making had returned. I was a hero for saving the family $200 in parts and labor.

Support studs have an expansion fitting - center post has to be pushed through to allow expansion joint to collapse for removal. After installation, this post can be pushed in or pulled out to secure the stud and be the proper length to hold the bins.

None of this was obvious - an online tip from another member was invaluable.

Replaced the Triple Water Valve

Looked at video on how to remove and reinstall support and followed the instruct ions

From discussions with friends, I determined the problem might be easy to fix. The fridge made a lot of noise, but the compressor DID come on, and inside the freezer was cold, but the main fridge was warming.

After unplugging the fridge, I removed the fan assembly in the freezer (there were about 4 nuts and a couple of plugs to uncouple.

I could see right away the fan blades has broken off, but the motor looked good. The new new fan pushed easily onto the shift and fit perfectly in the housing.

I reinstalled the fan assembly, plugged in the fridge, and right away heard the new fan come on - very quietly. What was a roar became a whisper and the fridge was down to 38 degrees with a few hours.

I had to remove the face cover to gain access to the ribbon harness, also had to remove the push pads The ribbon is a delicate item so care had to be taken not to bend the ends. The ribbon can fit either side so getting it in place to make contact was kind of tricky. After the ribbon was in, it just a matter of putting things back together. Dispenser is fixed at a minimum cost, ribbon was shipped within 2 days which was great. Thanks to Part Select for easy to find on the net, had a complete diagram of the refrigerator ice/water dispenser so finding the parts needed was simple. Doug

Glue the old one with gorilla glue. Made space and put the bin in. Now I have an extra one.
