Within a 2 months of purchase the compressor on This refrigerator this unit failed. and again two years later. After all of that, we were pleased to find a replacement dairy door for this unit. thank you!

Recently unemployed, we knew a repairman was out of the question. We opted to glue the broken tab,but I knew that would just be living a substandard rerpair so looked on line. Found our replacement part very easily and much to our surprise we had the part the next day, yes, the next day!! Looking at the new part gave us the confidence to pop out the old one without causing damage to our unit. It was a no brainer , pop out and plug in w/in 30 seconds. Small appliance repairmen are a minumum of 75.00 service fee plus parts. Our repair less than 20.00 less than 24 hrs. How good is that?

Took knife and pried out the the damaged switch. Took wires off. Put the wires on the new switch and put it back in the hole. Job finished. The part shipment was very prompt and I am happy. The End!

Removed old light switch by prying up and out of housing...removed wires (carefully not to get shocked!) and taped to inside of refrigerator housing. Ordered best matching part and rec'd it in a couple of days. Took less than 5 minutes to remove taped wires from side of cabinet and connect to new switch (which was a perfect match to the original equipment) and snap switch back into refrigerator housing! Works perfectly! Thanks!

I popped the switched out depressing the underside of the switch so that it could be removed.
I ordered the part.
Paid for normal shipping.
Received an order confirmation.
Received a shipping notification.
Received the part the next morning.
Open the part and attached the wires.
Pushed the switch into the hole and the process was done in less than 24 hours. I couldn't have been more pleased. The actual installation took less than 30 seconds.

Popped old one out with knife. exchanged power leads. Popped new switch in. Make sure to unplug refrigerator before you start!

After 5 1/2 yrs. I have not had one problem with my refrigerator. I just decided that I had room for one more "tray" in my door for all of those jars of condiments, etc. It was very easy to order the part I wanted and it arrived extremely fast! It was just what I needed! Now I'm wondering why I didn't do this 5 yrs. ago???? My husband is from Amana, Iowa where the refrigeration plant originated and his grandfather was even involved in the conception of the company so we will always be true to the Amana appliances! :)

removed top hinge, lifted door off bottom hinge, replaced cam, installed door.

Poped ou the old switch, connected new switch and pushed back into socket.

I used a knife blade to slip under the edge of old switch to pray it out of the hole it was inserted into, switched the wires and replaced the new switch into the same hole. It took about five minutes!

The worst part was unloading the door shelves. Removed upper hinge cover and hinge hex screws. This allows the door to be removed. Lay the door on side. Remove screw that holds cam in place. Replace
broken cam with new piece. Put the door back on the hinge pin and replace upper hinge screws and cover.
Now reload all of the stuff.

I followed the other web notes with one change .Since I too forgot the lube , I used a pry bar and block of wood to lift the door and a tooth pick to glob some lube in the lower hinge.
