After unplugging the appliance I needed to thaw a large ice buildup off the evaporator cover panel before I could even remove the panel. The freezer being on the lower part of the appliance has the evaporator mounted vertically and it was 100% encapsulated in rock hard ice. It took over an hour to thaw the ice and collect all the water with a shop vacuum, since the condensate pan began to overflow.
One thawed, I checked all wiring for good connection, checked heater, defrost thermostat, timer unit with multimeter. The defrost thermostat checked out fine after putting it into another freezer for a 15 minute cooldown, but I noticed a crack in the seal and suspected internal moisture and decided to replace that part. A simple plug in of two leads to the new part after clipping it to the evaporator, replacement of the panel, and the appliance was up and running problem free.
A workbench disection of the old part confirmed my assessment, it had internal rust and water and had failed causing the defrost cycle failure.

Most difficult part was finding where they hid the defrost timer. (it is in the left front under the fridge behind the kick panel.) just unscrew the two fastener screws from the front, tilt fridge up on one side, slide timer bracket back and remove. Unplug and remove timer from metal bracket. Replace timer and remount bracket.

It's self-explanatory. The procedure is obvious; it's just a little difficult. The only hard part is attaching the mounting brackets to the fan. If you can't tighten the mounting bolts, loosen them and reposition the brackets. You might end up mispositioning them at first, because they are hard to reach.

Pop off six mounting screws and the ground screw. Remove the fan blade and reattach. Reinstall. Save yourself big bucks.

Unplugged fridge.
Opened the back panel in freezer with nut driver. Removed nuts to compressor fan mount with nut driver. Old fan blade was not fixed on fan post, i.e., spinning freely. Pressed new fan blade on, remounted fan motor mount, and plugged in fridge. Fan works. Unolugged fridge again to replace the evaporator thermostat at the same time. Note: Tug gently on the thermostat lead that goes through a hole in the back panel. The wires pull relatively easy but the hidden connector is not connected on the other end and needs to be gently tugged through that hole which is shared with a wrapped HVAC line. It wasn't too difficult but it finally pulled through. Then I pushed the new wires and connector back through the same hole. The other wire connectors around the evaporator are attached in the same manner as the old. Zipped tied the wires into a tight bundle that wouldn't interfere with the fan.
Remounted back panel in freezer with nut driver. Everything works great. Stay frosty my friends!

I took the cover off of the evaperator in the back of the freezer compartment and thawed the ice out with a heat gun. I then replaced the bimetal defrost timer I did have to change one connection as it would not plug into the harness.
I found the Defrost timer in the front of the refrigerator behind the filter cover at the bottom. Just one screw and a quick plug in and everything is working wonderfully. no more icing up

Removed the ice brucket,
Removed the light shield by releasing one screw using a nutdriver.
Replacing the bulb and reinstalled the light shield.

I removed the switch housing (4 screws), replacing the switch in the housing was a snap. It took 5 minutes, cost $8 and light works like new!

Why didn't I order this part and do the repair earlier? Very simple.

I had to remember how the original broken part of the drawer glide was placed in relation to the other parts of the drawer. I removed the screws for the moving parts and took the broken glide off. I crossed my fingers that the new plastic glide didn't break as there were a couple of places where the glide had to snap into place. It worked perfectly.

I emptied the refrigerator, pulled out the crisper drawers, removed the left side crisper frame and support post, slid in the new frame and post (no tools required), reinstalled the crisper drawers, reloaded all the food back into the refrigerator. I was done in less than 15 minutes. One of the easiest repairs I have ever had to do.

I recently bought an old Amana refrigerator for my garage on CraigsList for 75 bucks. It was in great condition for its age, but was missing the post that supports the fruit and veggie crisper drawers. I did a Google search, quickly found PartSelect, and just as quickly located and ordered the missing part, which was reasonably priced. PartSelect promised it woud be delivered in 3-5 days by FedEx Ground and it was. I took it out of the box, removed the crisper backets - and glass cover for them - installed the post and WHA-LA, the crisper backets work just as good as when the fridge was new! Couldn't have had an on-line mal-order operation go any slicker!

The light rocker switch wasnt working. I found the part on the web site. It was so easy. I used a screw driver to pop out the old one and pop the new one in. It took 5 min. Thanks!!!

I was heartbroken when I shattered the 27 inch long glass shelf while cleaning the refrigerator. It slipped out of the frame when I was sliding it back in. Part Select came to the rescue. Not only did they have the replacement glass for only $20, but it arrived practically the next day! I just slid the glass right in. No tools necessary.

Very simple fix, remove 3 screws, two connectors to the old switch

Placed glass where it belonged and pressed seals on edge of crisper drawers.
