Freezer cold, refrigerator warm
This a top refrigerator with a bottom freezer. Turned freezer temperature dial to the off position. After removing everything from the freezer compartment, remove the back panel hex screws (7) total. Removed panel. Placed large fan in the freezer compartment on high for about 40 minutes to sublimate all the ice on the freezer coils. Removed and replaced the defrost thermostat on the right side of the compartment, it is clipped onto the coils. Replaced back panel and screws. Turned freezer control back to previous setting. It's been working fine for weeks now. Old part was ruptured, apparently from overheating (internal contacts became too resistive) during a defrost cycle.

Frosting up in freezer
Followed instructions per video you provided. Replaced one electrical connection by cutting and splicing. Used a knife to bare wires, and used splicers and electrical wire. Most difficulty is lying on your back or shoulders to work in thec cramped space. I am 80 yrs old - a few years ago would have worked faster

Would not defrost
The video was exactly how to do the job EXCEPT the freezer door is a pull out drawer and the basket slide on the right side of the freezer compartment MUST be removed before the back panel can be opened.

bottom freezer frozen with upper refrigerator warm
repair was done exactly as video instructed, although only one lead needed to be changed, simplifying the installation.
