original Timer knob was made with plastic threads which broke.
I simply unscrewed the little piece of the original (plastic) left on the metal bolt from the timer knob which broke off and screwed on the new timer knob which was lined with metal instead of plastic. I'm sure this part will outlast my washer which is around 15 years old

fan had stopped-freezer not performing etc.
simply removed old motor and replaced new. I'm over 82 and it was hard to get down and up to floor level!! One thing was a little puzeling -that was to insert the right screws which had a nitch in the end of the threds to keep it from loosening- I thought I was spoiling the threds cause I had to use a little pressure to start the screws and thought I had the wrong screws--they had sent several sets of them for different name brands- but II got it and everything seems to be allright - Could you tell me if I could purchase a replacement compressor and some refrigerent -the new kind. thank you, George Erlandson Only if my comp. goes out!!!

Evaporator coils would freeze up solid
Removed everything from inside freezer compartment (food and shelves) Removed inside backpanel that covered the coils. At the top of the coils is where the thermostat was attached. Removed old one and installed new. Has been working since.

original knob had grooves inside that had worn away
Unable to get information from Part Select on how to use the part that they sent. Part had no grooves. Part Select people were very nice and offered refund but I got the directions from somewhere else. Used needlenose pliers to hold timer shaft and remove the part with the grooves. After 21 years, the shaft was very fond of the grooved part, so it took some doing but it came off. Was able to screw the new part onto the threaded shaft underneath. Success!

freezer will not freeze or cool the ice box
I have replaced the circuit board, the condenser fan motor but the unit still will not feeze correctly. The bottom of the unit freezes but just barely cools the rest of the freezer and ice box. Have you got any other advice that might help. This is a side by side unit. What else could be the problem. It seems that the fan is not working correctly or it is stuck in defrost mode. The coils where the fan is seem to be icing up but it will not let the fan work. THanks for your help, David Wilson

Condenser Fan Motor seized up
First I removed the back cover then removed 3 nuts holding the motor. Next I removed the two wires. Next I attached new connectors to the wires and installed the new motor and everything worked perfect!
Service and shipping were fantastic! I would definitely use Partselect again!

refrigerator not cooling properly
Replaced refrigerator cooling control. No luck. Replaced freezer cooling control. No luck. Coils were icing up. Unplugged frig and allowed coils to defrost. After more poking around, found that condenser fan was not spinning. Touch it and it'd start. That was definitely in need of replacement. Replacement was easy. Refrigerator is now running as it should.

evaporator fan was noisy
First I unplugged the refrigerator. Next item was the ice-maker; remove (3) screws and unplug it from the back wall. Third task is remove the (4) screws that attach the back wall of the freezer compartment. Lift the wall up enough to dislodge the center cooling shaft that the fan rides in and remove the rear wall. The last item is the fan motor which is attached to the freezer wall by (2) screws and (3) wires which are easily removed. Change out the motor and reassemble freezer compartment .

The timer/wash select knob broke off in my hand
Went on line and did a search for Kenmore Washer Select Knobs through the Part Select website. The associated photo made it easy to match to my broken part. Ordered it and received it in 3 DAYS!!! Unwrapped the new part and screwed it on (the knob is threaded)- took longer to unwrap the part than to install it!!! I Love PartSelect.com!!! This was the 2nd time I have used them and will continue to rely on them whenever possible for my appliance repair needs!!!

the timer knob broke
All I had to do was screw the new knob onto the washer. It was an extremely easy fix. I think what astounded me was how quickly the part I ordered arrived. I ordered it on October 10, and it arrived October 12!!! I will definitely use this websie in the future.
