Ice maker had a leak and was putting wter in ice tray
I simply removed 3 nut head screews and the old unit came off. I removed the ice level arm off the old unit and put on the new one. I removed the old wire harness and plugged into the new unit. I mounted the new unit, plugged it in and was done. I had ice in less than an hour. So simple my 11 year old could have done it without help.

burned oven bulb
The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new light bulb in was not the problem.

Water was over flowing and making blocks of ice
It looked easy on the video so I ordered the icemaker. It was easy to remove, except for the electric connection. I then realized that the water outlet opening did not fit. Mine comes from the back. I took a chance and replaced the old fitting for the new so the water tube would fit. It took me a while to figure how to do this. The icemaker did not function until the next day, but has been working fine since. My husband is happy and I am sure I saved at least $200.00 or more.

Ice maker making blobs of ice
Removed the old ice maker. Video showed clips holding ice maker in the Freezer. Maytag had 3 screws. Removed the old one added the new one. Nothing! Took it out and tried it again? Pinched the hose in the back did not see it. Took it out again. Realized the rubber hose had froze up. Turned off water supply removed the Rubber hose from back of freezer thawed it out. Put ice make back in place. NOTHING! Told wife I would wait overnight for it to make ice if it didnt, I would put old one back in to be sure it was a defective part. 4 hrs later, wife heard ice fall in the tray. Wished instructions would have said would take time for ice maker to kick in. Works like a dream.

ice maker quit working
I finally realized the fill line for the ice maker was stopped up with ice. I turned the frig. off for 2 hrs. and used a hairdryer to blow hot air up in the fill line ( that hangs down over ice maker). Turned it back on and it worked fine .

Water would overflow when filling ice tray.
Getting the screws out that held the unit in place was easy but getting the wires disconnected was difficult. Not knowing how it unplugged it took some time figuring it out. I purchased the new unit after I got the old one out, if I would have purchased it first I would have see how it unplugged. When I received the new icemaker it was NOT and exact match so before I modified the water funnel I contacted part-select and they said if I modify the unit it will NOT void my warrantee. I took a knife and cut the end to make room for the hose and I plugged up the open side. I installed the new one turned it on and 3 hours later no leaks and fresh ice. Now I’m a happy guy.

Ice cubes frozen together.
Biggest problem was unplugging the snap in wire connector behind the ice maker. Otherwise the repair was straight forward.

not making ice, ice getting stuck and water spraying out
I ordered the parts by putting my problems onto google which got me to PartSelect who helped me pick out what I needed.
First the ice maker was making a loud grinding noise for days and then stopped making ice.
Also, the shoot cover in the dispenser was not closing, ice was getting stuck and water squirted out all over and made a huge mess. One day I got a small white plastic piece in a cup of ice water and knew that something had broken off. When the chute door would not close and ice was getting stuck...I knew I had to order the ice dispenser solenoid and door kit, even if I needed just the round circle that was the chute door. It turned out that it was that which needed replacing so my handyman and I watched the You Tube Select Part video on changing the ice dispenser solenoid. It was fairly easy and took 1/2 hour.
Next my handyman watched the video on how to change the ice maker, and he did so as such. When finished, we did not hear any action or water dripping inside the ice maker so my handyman wondered if anyone turned off the water...and since no body did, I told him that if I didn't have ice by tonight, I would call him so he could come back out and see why. But after dinner, I checked the ice bin and there was some ice. The water squirted out in a small neat stream and was glad to see that everything was fixed; and I didn't have to call a service company, which meant paying double the price!

Ice Maker Stopped Making Ice
After receiving the new icemaker in the mail, I went on line and got some directions and advice from people who had to do the same job. It was helpful getting their input, because many of them seemed to be doing it for the first time, and even though I'm mechanically inclined, I like to know what I'm getting into before I start.
The on-line help was excellent, and because of this I was able to make the R&R of the ice maker without a hitch.

My ice maker went on my fridge
It was super easy. I just cut the power to the fridge, took 3 screws out to remove the old icemaker, undid the power supply. Then I kept the supply wires, cover and ice maker arm and installed them on the new part. I plugged the supply wires back in, attached the new ice maker with a nut driver, installed the cover and arm. Turned the power back on and it's done. Just takes a few minutes!!!

Ice maker continued to cycle and would never stop to add water
Remove ice bin. Loosen two mounting screws holding ice maker in place ( not necessary to remove screws), Remove two screws holding cover over ice auger. Behind cover is connection for ice maker. Need two hands to disconnect wiring connector from ice maker( tight area to work in,narrow shoulders and long arms help). Squeeze tab on one end of connector while pulling connectors apart. DO NOT PULL ON WIRES, ONLY PULL APART CONNECTORS.
After ice maker is out use pin points on end of timer to check contact points to be sure all contacts are made. Is possible to insert an Ohm meter probe in holes at end of timer, it is not necessary to remove timer to check unless problem is found with open contact.
