oven light kept burning out instantly
Replaced the oven light with a new one but it burnt out as soon as I turned it on. Therefore I decided a new socket may help.

My whirlpool apparently has the old style socket which is pictured in partselect part #PS12584564. The old style socket has to two metal arms that retain it against the metal reflector.

The part that will come (#PS12584564) however is the new style that whirlpool has changed to, apparently. It is not as pictured. The socket and the reflector have different retention devices.

I used screw drivers to bend the two metal arms away to release the socket. Then I had to use allen wrenches to bend the reflector's retention tabs away.

Once I had the old socket, reflector, and lens replaced I just followed the video on partselect for part #PS12584564

Gas oven wouldn't light
Even though the old igniter still glowed, I took Part Select's advise that it may be getting weak and ordered a new one. They shipped the part out the same day, very nice, however FedEx decided for some reason to hold it for five days before moving it along. Boo! When the part got here the fix was straight forward, just a matter of unscrewing a small back panel, unplugging the part, taking the old igniter off the burner and reversing the process with the new part. Oven lit right up. Thank youfor your advise and quick service.

Symptom: No clicking spark to any of the burners.
Based on symptom, knew either switches or spark module. Checked continuity to each switch. Knew if only one faulty, entire harness must be replaced. Checked out good. Spark module isolated so replaced it.

No spark to any of the burners
I slid the range out about 8 inches from the wall, and having unplugged the range and looked at the diagram from the Parts Select site, I used a mirror and screwdriver to remove the screws holding the small rear cover. From there I removed the one screw holding the spark module and that way I was able to hold the old and new one side by side to move the wires. Reversed the process, easy peasy.

Clothes would not fully dry in automatic cycle
1st gen whirlpool Duet dryer sensor not working in automatic cycle.
After ordering the moisture sensor harness which is about 6-8 inches long, I removed the lower panel and it is right there. I disconnected the two wire connectors in the upper left and I need a small screwdriver to disconnect the two pin connector which was a bit of a pain but once replaced I no longer had to use the timed setting to dry clothes and this will save me electricity.

Oven would not get to temp. Igniter glowed but no gas to burner.
Easy. Slide oven away from wall. Turn gas off and unplug. Open oven door. Remove grates and lift out bottom tray to access igniter. Igniter is affixed to burner tube using (QTY=2) 1/4” bolts. Used socket wrench due to limited space for nut driver handle length. Detach igniter. Got to back of oven and remove the protective plate at the bottom. There are three phillips screws. Verify you have the correct cable for igniter by tugging on igniter in oven. Pull old igniter out. Replace old igniter with new using old bolts! Run igniter cable through back using same hole as old igniter. Plug in connector in the same fashion as prior. Before reassembly, test oven. Plug oven in and turn gas back on. Set oven to bake and set temperature. If igniter lights the gas burner tube, you’re done! Reverse process to put oven back together. Job takes 20 minutes, maximum. Saved a bundle!
