I first removed the 2 screws that held the oven floor in place. Once removed, I remove the cover plate that covered the ignitor.

In order to get to the ignitor wires, I had to remove the drawer. Once the drawer was removed, I marked which wire went to which spot on the ignitor, then cut the wires. I then removed the old ignitor by removing 2 screws. I then attached the new ignitor with the 2 screws and attached the wires using the enclose wire nuts.

The complete process was very easy, taking less than half an hour. The part with shipping was just over $50. If I paid someone to fix my problem it would have cost at least $200. I'm sure galad I found this web site.

After finding your page and using your trouble shooting guide, it was easy getting the right part and the video helped a lot. Removed the over rack- removed two screws to remove the bottom- two screws to remove the burner. Clipped the two wires to the old igniter and removed the burner from the oven,removed the two screws holding the igniter and installed new one. clipped the wires to length and renistalled the burner. Using the two wire nuts supplied put the wires togather and reinstalled the bottom. Everything went well lite first try with no poof sound. Just in time for Thanksgiving cooking. took drawer out, removed tin covers, found igniter and removed,snipped off parts to put on new igniter ,wirenutted old to new put back together ,we had ignition! all in all pretty easy job! detailed instructions that came with new part were easy to follow and precice

pulled stove out to unplug the electric cord. Took oven door off and removed the bottom panel (2 screws) and then removed the burner (2 screws). took off old igniter ( 2 nut screws). cut wires and stripped the coating to wire to new unit.
Attached new igniter to the burner, and put the burner back in place and replaced the screws so unit was stable.
Turned oven on to make sure ingiter was going to light oven, when oven came on, turned oven off and replaced the cover to the burner and the bottom panel in the oven,. Put the oven door back on........
Probably took 45 minutes.
I ordered the part late Friday afternoon, around 3, and the part was here Saturday Afternoon. I was impressed.

Removed lower burner covers and fan cover to access igniter. Unscrewed igniter and pulled out as far as possible. Marked both wires and snipped them. Twisted on wires from new igniter and mounted igniter. Pulled excess wire thru to back of oven and reassembled covers from first step. Last step was to explain to wife that she needs clean in there MUCH better.

Remove the oven drip pan & burner baffle. unscrew & cut leads to remove old igniter. Splice old leads to new using furnished wire nuts and remount. Job would have been easier with oven door removed, but didnt want to create a new project.

Checked voltage supply to oven igniter, had 120 v
to oven igniter, but igniter was not glowing.

I exposed the ignitor through the inside of the oven and then removed the two screws that held it in place. I then cut the wires underneath the stove ans reconnected them to the new part with the wire nuts provided. It was a simple repair.

Unplug appliance. Remove the bottom of the oven (2 screws in back of oven bottom), remove burner cover (2 screws in front and nut in center holding burner). Pull out the bottom storage drawer under the oven and unplug both wires from oven Igniter which are located in the back. One wire plugs into the gas valve and the second wire went into a connector that was on the lower left. I removed the screw on the back oven wall that held the burner so I could remove the burner for ease of work. Remove two screws holding the old igniter. The two screws holding the igniter to the side of the burner were stripped and they took a little time to remove but I replaced them with two new screws I had in my misc. screw drawer and had no issue. Cut the top wire and splice it onto the top wire of the new igniter using the porcelain wire nuts provided. Do the same with the bottom wire. Re-assemble and plug back in. Everything worked perfectly.

A friend replaced the new ignitor with the old one...very simple job.

I would like to comment on how fast the service was from when I ordered the part online to 3 business days later when the part arrived....very happy about how easy it was to order part and that the part was in stock and delivered so quickly. The oven igniter was working, the Sears repairman said by the phone the igniter was probley weak and not geting hot enough. Remove door ( 4 screws) Remove oven pan (4 Screws) remove burner sheld. remove lighter and cut wires. Install new. Remove storage drawer and splice new wires to the old at the back.

i followed some of the tips provided, and added a few of my own. unplug stove from electric outlet. open oven door, remove wire trays. remove the two flathead screws, holding down the oven pan, it should slide out easily. remove oven burner(looks like wings)only one nut holding it in place with 1/4"nutdriver. remove igniter, 2 nuts as well with 1/4" nutdriver. cut wires, leave a good length, and strip(2 wires). install new igniter, strip the 2 wires as well, trim to size, and with the two wire caps provided, make wire connections. tuck any excess length of wires away from igniter. re-install all parts the were orginally removed. plug oven back into outlet. turn on oven, and presto, oven worked good as new. saved a couple of hundred dollars doing the repair myself

wonderful went perfect!!!

1. Unplugged unit and shut gas off.
2. Removed the oven door(2screws).
3. Removed the oven floor(3screws).
4. Removed heat dispersion plate(1bolt).
5. Removed faulty igniter(2screws).
6. Labeled and spliced wires.
7. Connected new igniter.
8. Installed all previously removed parts.
9. Restored power and gas to unit and oven
fired up in a matter of seconds.....Thanks

suspected oven ignitor,went to partselect website and saw
others had same concern and ignitor was the failed part.ignitor was not getting white hot just orange-not enough
voltage going to the gas valve to open it.ordered and replaced
ignitor.repair took about 20 minuets-oven repaired.
