MGR5605WB0 Maytag Range - Instructions

I had no idea I would have to replace the whole handle. Luckily it wasn't too expensive. First, however, I tried a few other remedies. I tried a larger screw--and the mounting base that the screw goes into broke. Then I thought maybe I could glue it...but I couldn't find a glue that could take the heat of the oven, so I broke down and ordered the part. It came quickly, like in 2 days. The only difficult part was removing the old handle from the front of the oven door. There were these ring-type washer-gripper things that held it in place. Not knowing any better, I used small needle-nose pliers and bent them up little by little to work the pieces off, and then I was able to re-use them. Maybe if I had ordered those as well, I could have just cut the old ones off? Regardless, it took time, but wasn't difficult. I do see this as a design flaw because I've NEVER had an oven door come apart before. I hope this new part lasts.

We just put the new burner cap on the stove, and my husband just slipped the new handle on the stove.

I pulled the stove out from the wall & took the back lower right cover off. Unplugged the power cord & disconnected the igniter from the power. Took shelves & bottom cover (took two screws out)from oven. Used nutdriver to remove old igniter, then pulled the connector through into the oven, discard. Put new igniter in place with nutdriver.Push connecting cord through to back of stove.Replace bottom cover & shelves. Plug cords together & plug cord back in to outlet.Turn stove on & igniter works!!! Push stove back into place & bake a cake! :)

To begin with,the symptoms were strange.....the burner would not ignite even though the igniter was glowing....but if you bumped anything in the broiler or pulled the drawer out and closed it abruptly,it would lite. This went on for a few weeks , until slamming and banging worked no more.(that was getting old anyway)I went ahead and ordered the igniter.It came fast and was very easy to replace.I went in from the oven,took out the racks and the bottom plate(2 screws), exposing the flame diverter that is just above the burner.(2 screws)You can access the igniter now ,and remove it.(2 screws),and unplug it.Reverse order to install the new one.I didnt unplug the range or turn off the power,because I screwed the igniter on first and then it was a matter of just plugging it in. Everything went back together and turned on the oven. Worked fine. Very easy to do,and no more banging around the broiler.Should have done it sooner.

changing the part itself was easy, but the sheet metal covering the whole back of the oven was difficult to remove because of some screws that were stripped. The new sensor solved the problem.

Removed bottom plate by pulling up from the back (had some resitance), Two machine screws holding cover over igniter, used 3/8" socket to remove. Pulled oven from wall to disconnect igniter @ coupler, unscrew one more machine screw, fed replacement igniter into slot and coupled, attached single screw to pipe, put cover w/ 2 machine screws on top, install bottom plate. Had to use butter knife to get bottom plate to fit into the front cabinet area of stove. Done & working fine.

ordered the part and in less then 24 hours from ordering the part it was shipped and delivered and my husband and I put the part in took us no time at all very easy to do... 2 years ago i had this same problem and called a guy in the area cost me $200. I had dinner in the oven by 5 that night!!!!

Looked up on-line the error problem and what part I needed to fix it. Part arrived very quickly and everything was going fine until I realized the stove had two sensors. Replaced the top sensor now I am getting an error on the bottom sensor. Maybe I replaced the wrong one. I will replace the bottom sensor with the one I took out and see if that does the trick. It only took my husbend 6min to put in the new oven igniter. But it did not work, so I call your center and the rep there talk my husbend and told him how to unluck the key bord, and that worked. Thank you for all the help.

Remove the plug from outlet then shutoff gas. Remove the 10 screws hold the back panel of the oven. Unclip the connector of the temperature sensor from the main line. Pull the sensor straightout. Reverse the process install the new sensor. Couldn't be any easier. Oven working great. Calling in a reapairman would have cost $200 for parts and labor.

Shut off gas and unplugged electrical cord. Removed grates; oven floor and flame spreader and then unbolted old igniter with nut driver. Removed shield in rear of over with Phillips screwdriver and unplugged igniter from power socket. Removed old igniter and replaced with new. Bolted new igniter into place with nut driver and plug into rear socket. Turned on gas and plugged in electric to test igniter; saw white glow and flame on in a minute. Replaced rear shield, flame spreader, oven floor and grates. DONE!

Our oven wouldn't light as the ignitor wasn't getting hot enough. I ordered the part from your company and got it in just a few days. A quarter inch wrench and one plug, done!

First of all my wife is a clean freak. She lifted range top one to many times and broke the front burner tubes. She went to lite front burner after cleaning and got a very big bang because of the gas leak. Found brokentubes and called parts select with model info and got some great help getting my parts. Took only ten minutes to replace tubes after parts came in. Thanks for the help. Also the parts cost less at parts select than my repair store in my home town

Received the part the day after ordering. Appreciated the quick service and repair took less than a minute.

I disconnected gas line and removed screws holding the 4 pilot assembles, lifted the top of stove and removed and replaced the tubing. Pretty straight forward installation..
