element burned up
I am a 62 year old woman. All I had to do was unscrew the retaining screws on the back of the oven wall, pull the element out and unplug it. When the new one came, I did it in reverse. It took about five minutes. Ps: I did turn the breaker off first....

Element burned out
Called Sears, repairman couldn't come for a week and would cost $129 for visit not including parts. Went to Sears repair store, part cost more than the part I had already found online and would take a week to arrive. Ordered the part online, paid for next day delivery, watched a video on how to replace. Had my oven back in two days and $59!!!

The oven was not heating.
After noticing that our oven was not heating up, we talked to some other people and they said that we should try replacing the heating element. Replacing the heating element was as simple as removing two screws, pulling out the old element, reattaching the new element and putting back the two screws. One mistake I made was not unplugging the range before doing this repair and so I got a little electric shock before I was finished. After getting shocked I did unplug the range before continuing with the repair. The best part is that my oven now works again with no problem. This repair couldn't be any easier.

The lower oven element burnt out.
After removing the old broken element, I searched the internet for the part by brand and model number. With very little trouble, I located the correct part, ordered it and waited for the notice of shipment. In 5 days, and that included Memorial weekend we had the part and in 5 minutes the part was installed. The cost was $31.20 plus shipping..not bad!

The oven did not heat up. I noticed the element was cracked.
I watched the video provided by Part Select before I ordered the part. I removed the old element by taking out two screws and unplugging it from the wires. I put the new element in place, connected the wire to the right side and then opened up the back of the range to connect the left side. The repair was easy, but the video did not show that you had to connect the left side from the rear of the appliance. It was easy to figure out. The appliance works like a charm...no like an oven.

Old Bake Element Cut Itself In Half
A little background story: One day after cooking up some chicken I noticed a bright blue light coming from the bake element. I turned off the oven, but the blue light remained and was getting brighter. Come to find out the bake element had more or less welded itself in half and what I saw was electricity arcing between the two halves of the baking element. I had to unplug the range to stop the arc. Luckily fixing it was as easy as unscrewing the old one (held in with one philips screw on each side), popping the connected wires off (they just slide on and off of connecting tabs), and doing the reverse for installation. Super easy job.
