3865XRA Magic Chef Range - Instructions

I removed the two mounting screws and pulled the harness through the opening unsnapped the sensor from the harness and installed the new sensor i didn't have to used the adapters the new sensor fitted

I received the new element on the third day, followed simple directions, and voila! I'm baking again.
First I unplugged the stove. Important!. Then with a phillips head screwdriver I removed the two screws at the back of the oven. The transition from busted to new was easy because there was a slide-in connection to the wires, not screws. The best advice was sticking duct tape on the wires so they wouldn't go back into the inner sanctum before I was able to attach the new element. Hey, I'm a 72-year-old grandma, and it was easy!

My husband has moved out of state for his job. I am left here with the children until the house sells. This is the first time I have ever had to do any oven repair. I had excellent and fast service - my part came right away. I took out the 2 screws holding the element in place, pulled the element out, disconnected the old element, connected the new one, pushed it back in, and replaced the screws. No problem at all. I was a little nervous turning it all back on, but it is working perfectly!

First I cut the power to the stove. Then I unscrewed the two screws. Pulled the element out a few inches. I had to use pliers to disconnect it from its wires. It was a very tight fit. Then I reconnected the new element. Cut the power back and and fired her up. Boy did she burn like fire.

I unplug the stove first. Then took off two screws that held the bake element in place. Pulled off the connectors using the pliers. Had to use pliers because they were really snug. Plug in the wires to the new base element. Crimped down the connectors a little bit to make sure they were snug. Inserted the bake element back into the holes at the back of the oven. Put the two screws back in. Plugged the oven back in and turned it on to make sure it worked. Lastly, tossed the old bake element in the trash. Really easy job. Glad I didn't pay anybody to do this.

The part came quick and packed very well. I moved the stove out and un pluged it. opened oven door and took a philips screwdriver and took the screws out at the back of element..Slid it out with the two wires attached and unpluged the conectors. pluged the conectors on to the new element and slid it back in. Had a chocolate cake in 35 minuts.

Removed 2 phillips screws, unplugged 2 wires, threw away old element. Installation of the new element was just as easy but in reverse order. Piece of cake!

Removed two screws from back of oven ,pulled apart old coil from wires, inserted new coil into the small metal pieces, pushed back and screws replaced. Really easy , anyone can do. Oh, I am 70 years old so probably people younger could do more quickly.

With the back removed, replacing the lamp receptacle is straight-forward. Likewise, the door gasket is very easy. However, in order to replace the hinges, you have to remove the burner glass top (screws underneath the front lip), and inner and outer side panels. Also the supplied hinges mounting holes were not threaded so I had to use my own bolts, lock-washers and nuts in order to attach them. Total time, including a bit of cleaning, was 5 hours.

I can't believe how easy this was to fix! I amazingly found the part on-line at PartSelect website. I love that you pick part by size, color, etc. I didn't have a part or model number, so this made it super easy! I ordered the part and got it in the mail within 2 days....YEAH! I got my screwdriver out and attached the peice, slid the drawer back in and shazam! it was fixed! Thank you PartSelect and kudos to the person that set up the way you order your parts......awesome! The repair was easy as unplugging the range, unscrewing the bake element from the oven, pulling the wires out, unplugging the element and plugging the new element in. The oven works great after the repair! Too easy!! If I have to explain how I replaced the light bulb; you may not want to try it, you might hurt yourself.

Your ordering process could not be easier (including the on-line drawings and all). I selected the lowest cost shipping method "3-5 days." Wednesday evening, I got your e-mail with the tracker. Thursday afternoon the part arrived! Saturday, we opened the oven, took out the old unit, and put in the new. It worked fine! Thanks again!!

Very easy to repair, but you have to be able to pull your stove out. Two screws in the oven and then remove part of back cover of oven and one plug from there. Simple to do, but did not fix our problem. We are waiting repair now from service company as it looks like it needs a control panel. Worth trying yourself to fix the problem. Inexpensive part and easy to install. Also be sure to turn power off your oven to reset the control panel as this may fix the problem - try this first and also after installing new part - like rebooting a computer...

Replaced the long Oven Sensor but have not resolved the root problem. Oven still will not reach required temperature. Bottom element becomes red hot, but turns off and will not start again.

Had to remove oven from mounting cabinet to get to the back since the wire lenght to the conector was to short to come through the mounting hole.
Other than that the repair was straight forward. 4 screws to dismount the Oven from cabinet, 2 screws to remove Sensor and 3 srews to open the back of the oven once out in the open. New cable adapter that came with the new sensor was needed in my case.
