Pliers
The old single heating element support clips came loose over time.
I ordered the replacement clips from this site and they arrived in a timely manner. The clips were perfect, but due to the age of the oven, the holes had elongated and the new clips kept falling out also. I modified the clips by widening the tips with a pair of pliers. They are holding just fine. I don't think the older clips could've withstood the modification.

Solid large burner element wouldn't heat
This burner element is the large element of a 2 element modual.
After removing the modual, there was 6 small metal screws to open the modual to expose the burner elements. After the burner element were exposed there are 2 wires that had to be disconected with a screw driver. Once the wires are disconnecter the burner element is easy removed by sliding the old element out and sliding the new element in. Just reconect the wires to the new element and put the cover back on with the 6 metal screws. It took about 30 minutes to complete the task, taking time to clean all the insides to bring it back to new condition. Very very easy job.

Heating element had shorted out and broken.
Unscrewed the heating element from the inside back of the oven and removed the housing cover from the back of the stove to access the terminals. (The unit had arked and fused the terminal to the connector.) Installed the new unit and replaced the housing cover on the back and screwed the unit into the back of the oven. Works like a charm.

Followed the video directions on your website - GREAT INFORMATION. Everything went very smoothly It took me longer to find my work light (after turning off the electric to the oven) out in the garage than it did to complete the repair!! SUPER PLEASED - WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANY DIY ADVENTURER!!

A tenant left the Drip Bowls in an uncleanable state. I could not find a suitable replacement..
Most trainable people can pull out the heating elements and replace the Drip Bowls. The great thing about the ordered drip bowls was that they FIT! Most drip bowls sold as easy replacements for GE or Hotpoint appliances do not fit and wobble the heating element or drip bowls. If not fitting correctly, the tenant usually destroys the heating element and the drip bowl.

Old infinity switch on electric rangetop did not work correctly
Lifted range top, disconnected and labled wires from old switch, removed old switch, replaced wires on new switch, installed new switch.
NOTE: Local appliance store informed me that the electric cooktop was too old and that a replacement switch was not available and wanted to sell me a new cooktop for $795!
I found the switch on PartSelect and repaired the cooktop. Total cost... UNDER THIRTY DOLLARS!!

Alarm would sound whenever oven turned on - with an error message code
Watched the video on the PartSelect site. Could not have been an easier repair and I saved the cost of a service call - probably saved at least $100 - $150 in service call and I can only guess what the labor cost would have been. Will use this business again for other appliance repairs on my older stove, washer, etc. By the way - the official Kenmore site said this part was no longer made and unavailable --- Thank you PartSelect for having the part and saving me the cost of buying a new stove!

Electric cooktop burner would not heat
Disconnect power to burner module. Dissassemble module with nut driver. Screws connecting feed wires to burner were too corroded to remove. Cut wire close to screws, stripped insulation and inserted new ends into new burner. Reassembled module with nut drivers.

oven stopped heating and element appeared broken
The customer service rep was brilliant in finding the
right part number! It was sent the following day
(with email to let me know) The part itself was just
exactly like the old one. I simply turned off the power,
removed the 2 metal screws and unplugged the
broken element. The new one fit properly and works
like a million dollars. For about $50, you made me
look like a hero in my own house! Thjank you

The light inside the oven had burned out
0. As a safety precaution, unplug the range or hit the relevant fuse breaker before you start. You might also want to grab a flashlight. Definitely do not try to do this while the oven is hot.
1. Pinch the wire over the light bulb cap to remove it. This is inside the oven at the back.
2. Pop off the hemispherical glass cap.
3. Unscrew the old light bulb, and screw the new light bulb in its place.
4. Put the cap back.
5. Secure the cap by putting the wire back in its slots on the cap.

No tools needed, the cap is just held in place with pressure from the wire.

Intermittent heat then no heat on oven element
With multimeter checked resistance of oven sensor. Specs called for 1100 ohms. It was off by 27 ohms. The sensor from Part Select had exact wire connection as original. Then just matter of undoing old and reconnecting with new one.

One unsatisfactory event. I asked Part Select why my clock did not work or light up(timer works ok) . Answer was: sorry we have no time to help you. That soured the otherwise happy experience.

Broken oven door springs, due to age and wear
Just remove the pots and pans drawer from the bottom of the stove. Unhook the remains of the old springs from the door hinges underneath, and from the holes on the bottom of the the stove frame. Then hook up the new springs in the same holes. Then replace the bottom drawer. Very easy repair.
