Baking element broken on one side
First I turned off the electical supply to the oven.I unscrewed the nut bolts on both sides of the baking element and pulled the wires through. Disconnected the wires of old element, then connected the wires of the new element. Pushed wires back and connected the nut bolts to the back of the oven. The new element did not come with new screws so I used the old screws to connect the new element. The only problem is that after installing the new element my oven still does not work. It doesnt get any heat. Not sure what went wrong.

No oven heat, but the broiler worked fine. All top burners worked.
Removed the oven heater and checked with an ohm meter. It read 'open', so I ordered a new element. It came in a few days, and my 16 year old grandson installed it, and all is well!

Bottom element had hot spots, very slow heating
Turn off the power to the range. Remove oven racks. Remove the two screws and slowly pull the element out being careful not to pull the wires off. Remove the two wires then attach them to the new element. Push the element back in place, put the screws back in, turn on the power and turn on oven to make sure the problem is fixed

Original Elememt went bad
The directions have been stated many time and they are quite simple. Take out the two screws, pull the element so the wire connections come through into the oven. Disconnect the element at the wire connectors and replace. This is a dirt easy job.

The only real area for a potential problem is pulling the wire connectors through into the oven. As long as you pull slow and from the back - right next to the whole, you will be fine. Take the connectors off carefully and you're golden. Easy job.
