79070112700 Kenmore Range - Instructions

I followed directions for replacement of the glass from the web. Replacement was simple and easy.

Removed oven door. Removed screws from bottom of door as well as handle screws. Remove inner panel to expose glass. Replaced glass panel and reverse steps. Very easy.

removed back. discovered wrong connector on probe. Cut the connectors off and spliced with small butt connector. Took me longer to find the tools and connector than to do the repair. The wires are very small and require a very small butt connector. Tips by the sales rep and previous customer were helpful. Great service. Will try PartSelect for Cub Cadet and Yamaha OB parts. removed the door from the range. removed the 4 layers of glass and carefully set aside the unbroken ones. the 3rd and 4th glasses were held together with a metal frame which had to be dismantled. The old broken glass was rusted and hard to get out of the frame. It had to be cleaned thoroughly of broken glass and rust. the removal process could then be reversed to assemble the parts and re assemble the door to the front of the range

I actually watched Youtube while I was changing it. This video was not actually the same make up of my oven, even though the I typed in the model number. I manage to figure it any with the steps anyway. It was harder then I expected but not horrible. I think I did pretty well for a women. Patti

I was unable to loosen the screws myself so I called my friends husband to help me. We watched the video together and followed the instructions. The door in the video was a bit different than mine but this repair was easy.

Removed outer glass first ,then worked my way thru to inner glass..

I checked the internet and found PartSelect.com the most affordable (lowest price) for the part. I got the part within 3 days which was very quick. Replacing was unscrew and re-screw at two points. it took me about 15 minutes (including opening the box and talking to my wife on the phone for 5 minutes).

1. Remove the old Trim by opening the door and unscrewing the two top screws holding the trim and glass to the door. 2. Lift the trim piece off of the glass, being careful as the glass will be a bit loose, and unscrew the handle from the trim piece, discard those two screws. 3. Place the new trim piece on the glass so that it fits snugly. 4. Place the screws back through the holes on the inside of the door, through the new trim piece and attach them to the handle. 5. Tighten down snugly and close door. You are done!

The gasket just snapped in place. The first one I ordered was, my fault, the wrong one and I returned it and got the correct one two days later.

Moved the stove. Used the template to position the bracket. Put the supplied screws to attach bracket to the floor. Slid stove back into place. DONE!

Removed the old oven racks and put in the new ones.

Unplug the stove from the wall socket. Remove the oven door as shown in the instructions for replacing the door. This makes the job a lot easier. At the rear of the bottom panel there is a screw at each corner. Remove these screws, a screwdriver will loosen them, then remove by hand. If you have a convection oven remove the fan cover as this prevents the bottom panel from coming out. There is a screw at the top and the bottom of the cover. You can then gently lift the bottom panel at the rear and work it out of the front lip. Install the new bottom panel in reverse order.

We took off all of the bolts holding the burner assembly's in place . Then took the top of the s range off. Used a wrench to remove the old assembly and re-placed it with the new one. It took longer to get all of the top and under cover off then to put the new part in. Very good service from Part Select. MATT
