79036694507 Kenmore Range - Instructions

I simply searched YouTube for the problem I was having and foud it was probably caused by a bad part. I found the part online and ordered it. It was as simple as a few screws and a couple wire-nuts to install. My girlfrind was very happy to get the oven fixed !!!!

Followed service sheet. Measured 2.6 amps draw at igniter wire which should have been 3.2 amps. Replaced igniter and problem resolved.

I removed the oven bottom which was held by two large head long screws. I then removed the heat deflector using a small socket. The only difficult part was when I went to replace the igniter. The screws that were holding it in place stripped I guess do to the amount of heat they were continually subject too. I had to apply pressure to the igniter bracket while removing the screw using a small socket. Even with that they did not come out easily. If I had not had trouble removing the screws the repair probably would have taken 15 min.

I replaced both gas valve and igniter. I removed oven door and bottom of oven for easy access to both. The door slid off easy and the bottom was held by two thumb screws. I removed the gas flare for easy access to igniter & valve. I then removed the igniter & valve using nutdriver, phillips screwdriver and adj wrench. I then followed simple instructions supplied for wire connect on igniter and valve. It was a very easy job for a 25 yr old stove. I made the mistake of ordering only the valve and ordered the igniter later. Having both new parts causes the oven to light in about 30 seconds. Im glad I found partselect online. took drawer out, removed tin covers, found igniter and removed,snipped off parts to put on new igniter ,wirenutted old to new put back together ,we had ignition! all in all pretty easy job! detailed instructions that came with new part were easy to follow and precice

Removed the two screws, took out the old one and replaced the new one. It was very easy and the oven works great now. Thanks.

First, I read all the instrutions that came with my replacement part from Parts Select thoroughly (twice) then follewed them like an experienced surgeon. I removed the lower drawr after turning off the gas and unplugging the stove and then took out the bottom panels inside the oven to expose the screws holding the ignitor coil. Removed it, then cnnected the new one to the existing wires as they were in the stove and the drawing in the instructions, then replaced everything in the reverse of them coming apart. Plugged it back in, turned the gas back on and now it,ll bake things again. YEAH!! Parts Select!!!

could not determine what part failed.Found Part Select on line useing Bing search.Using virtual repairman and typing in the problem it told me what I needed.Orderd that part on line and reieved it in TWO DAYS,can you believe that! Inatalled that igniter in 15 mins. and now it works like new. Thank You Part Select!!!!!!

took out the old (2 screws) put clip on wires and put the new part in. Simple

followed posted repair procedure on Parts select site. . . straight forward and simple. . .

This was a very easy project.
-First, I removed the two bolts holding the old igniter. Second, I clipped the wires then stripped them. Next, I connected the wires with the wire nuts. Finally, I attached the igniter with the old bolts. I plugged it back in, and it worked better than ever. My husband was very impressed that I repaired our stove myself!

After removing heat shield, removed heating element (make sure you have the right bit, I stripped one of the screws). Cut wires , making sure to mark them. Reconnected and it worked like new! Saved a bunch of money,thank you!

removed bottom plate in oven removed three screws and cut two wires.

Unplug electicity, Take out all inside pans, unscrew the burner arm, disconnect white power wires to the igniter. remover gas buner, detach the igniter and attach the new igniter to the burner arm. re assemble the burner arm, connenct the white wires to the white wires from the oven just below the igniter. Put all pans and guards back in oven, plug in and test.
