79090820408 Kenmore Range - Instructions

My husband had recently moved out of our house so I was very nervous about trying this repair myself but it was actually very easy!!I ordered the part on Monday, it arrived on Wednesday and Wednesday night I was baking dinner in the oven!!

Removed screws. Tried to pull out old element but spade lugs on old element were bent at ninety degree angle. Once I figured that out I was able to manouver the old element out with the attached wires. Had to be carfull that the loose wires did not slip back ijn through the hole. Reaching in over the oven door was a but diffcult, but all-in-all the jobe was done in a few minutes.

Unscrewed 2 screws, pulled the wires out and unplugged the old element, plugged the new one in, screwed 2 screws back in, so easy anyone can do this, it's nice to have a second person holding a flashlight but couldn't be any easier.

i called Sears and ordered the element and they charged me 16.99 plus the part to ship the next day. after 1 week i called them and they said the part was on backorder. i then check with them each week almost a month and the part was still on back order, I asked if they could fix it faster if they came to the house, they informed me it would cost 65.00 for a repair person to see what part i needed and after that they would schedule m e for a repair when the part came in. meanwhile i could not use my oven. i happened to go on line and came up with your web site. i ordered the part and 2 days later my son installed it. my oven works great . your company is awsome.

Replaced infinite control very easily.

The repair took less time than finding the model number. After unplugging the range and allowing it to cool I disconnected the element (2 screws), went online and found Part Select ordered the element and saved $16.00 dollars over the least expensive local shop, I was amazed at how fast the element arrived, I believe it was 4 days from order to my door. I went to my local hardware store for some new connectors for the wire, put them on and plugged in the element fastened down the two screws and went back to baking cookies. The element was well and safely packed and came in perfect condition. It works like a charm. Thank You

ordered new heating element, arrived promptly as expected, compared new heating element to old one and it matched in size only diameter a little different, removed two sheet metal screws holding element in place and pulled out element to expose conductors and removed them with screwdriver. Installed conductors on new heating element slid into holes and installed screws, turned power back on(first step is to turn off power) turned on oven to preheat and she worked like a new one. Turn power off. At oven, removed two screws from element hanger. Pulled old element out exposing spade connectors. Pulled connectors lnstalled connectors on new element and shoved back in stove and replaced screws. Work done with oven door open using drop light. Check for debris, turn power on, turn oven on to check.

Very easy. Remove two screws, pull element forward, remove two wires, install wires on new element, push backward and reinstall the screws. Done!!!

Unplugged the range. Removed the top section of the back of the stove to expose switches. Removed the knob, (pulls off exposing the 2 switch screws), unscrew & pull out from the back. The new switch was slightly bigger but the same manufacture and post letters & numbers. Transfer wires one-at-a-time from the old to the new switch. Mount the new switch back in place, put the screws in and the knob on. I plugged in the stove for a quick test, HA....works perfectly. Unplugged again and put the back panel back on, plugged back in and pushed the stove back in it's hole. BEFORE; the old switch when turned down would come back on BUT stay on high, a lot of boil overs. FINALLY: when turned on, it would NOT turn off, a real fire hazard. Thank you for having an original replacement part.

Loosen 2 screw with a 1/4 nut driver. Pulled element out to expose connections. Carefully disconnected old element and replaced with new element. Pushed wires back into holes and replaced the screws. (Note: Be careful not to let the disconnected wires slip back through the holes. This almost happen to me)

Turned off circuit breaker to the oven, unscrew the 2 small screws, pulled the element away from the back, pull element away from the wires in the oven and replace with the new one and replace the screws. Tirn circuit breaker back on

Unpluged Oven, Removed 2 screws, unpluged Element, Plugged in new element. Replaced 2 screws, plugged oven in. Done 15 minutes.

Removed old element with a nut driver, 2 screws. Disconnected electric wires on element, being careful not to let the wires slip into the back of the oven. Connected the wires on new element, lined up holes with holes on oven and screwed in 2 screws with nut driver. Done!!
