Oven would not start when cold.
(I could hold a torch on the igniter to start it, then it would work, but would not initially heat up on its own). Pull up and remove oven door. Remove racks. Remove 2 thumb screws in back of bottom plate and remove plate. Remove 1 screw on cover plate. remove 2 screws on igniter and unplug. Splice wires from new igniter to old plug with ceramic wirenuts (included). (Manufacturer changed plug design). re-install everything. (Sears wanted $80.00 for the part, Appliance Factory wanted $47.00).

Igniter replacement
First, I was amazed at how fast I received my order. I ordered the part on a Friday morning and i received it Saturday morning. Standard shipping.
The repair should have been much easier than it was.
I removed the oven door by just pulling up and out. then i removed the door underneath the oven. The i reached underneath and disconnected the igniter. From inside the oven, i removed the bottom panel(2 screws). Then i removed the front screw holding the gas tube. I was able to move the tube enough to get at the two screws holding the igniter. one of the screws came out easily using an adjustable wrench. but the other did not come out straight. i had to use tin snips to cut off the igniter so i could acess the screw easier. replacement was in reverse.

Oven igniter would no longer heat the oven.
Repair was very simple. It was a five minute job including time taken to remove old part with a screwdriver and then it was a matter of plugging in the new part ant attaching it to the oven.

Oven and Broiler would not operate.
This job is done from the inside of the oven. Remove the drawer on the bottom. Open the oven and remove the bottom panel in oven which is fastened by two screws at the back. Lift up panel and pull foward to remove. Unscrew deflector plate and small plate that covers wiring hole. Remove ignitor from the burner. Replace ignitor. I found that you should also relpace burner at the same time. Burner usually causes the ignitor to go out. My burner had a hole in it and flames were shooting out directly on the ignitor which shortened the life of the ignitor. When you buy the burner it comes with an ignitor, you can't buy burner seperately but you can buy the ignitor seperately, so I recommend buying the kit.

Oven would not heat to proper temperature
Because of the location of the nuts for the igniter which were under the heating unit it was very difficult to get a wrench or any tool under it in order to undo them. I had to purchase a 1/4 inch box wrench, as I did not have one, only an open end, in order to make it easier to affix the wrench to the nut. There was not enough room to get any other tool under there and I could only get a i/4 turn each time I tried to loosen it. Finally after about 4 hours I got both nuts loosened. I then had to apply glue to the end of my finger in order to get the nut back into position to attach the new igniter. Then of course it was back to the 1/4 turns. After finally getting both nuts screwed in I then found that the new igniter had a male clip on the end as did the old attahment. So, I had to splice the wires in order to connect the new to the old clip. Finally after around 6 hours the job was complete and the new igniter did its job. The oven now heats to the proper temperature. My knees are still sore from being on them for all that time.
