8790414 Jenn-Air Range - Instructions

After examining the burner unit I noticed that one of the male contact spades was burned and look deformed. After removing the spade I discovered that it had been originally manufactured incorrectly. I went on line to try and find the part. I found it at this site . I ordered 2 of the spades and replaced the deformed spade and another one that looked like it had gotten a little hot. She tried the unit and it worked perfectly. She had not used that burner unit for a very lengthy time. The investigation of the problem took a little time, but the repair went very fast. Moral is :" If a spade doesn't look right, it probably isn't", but either the individual spade or plug can be replaced. This site is now my "GO TO" place for parts.

Did not need tools for this job. Simply lift burner element and remove old drip pan and put new one in its place. However - the drip pans that were shipped only fit on the left side of the range. The right side, where the grill attachment goes, is so shallow that the drip pans on that side hit the bottom plate beneath the burner element and would not let the element go down far enough to seat properly. I kept the two pans that don't fit for extras, but I still need shallower pans to fit on the right side.

dissembled the burner, remove the broken blocpk and bad spade.rewiered and assembled the burner.

Pulled out the old burners and put in the new ones.

Replaced the drip pans

Pulled out the old burner and plugged in the new!

No brain surgery required. Removed electric burner, put in new drip pans. Voila! Good for many more years of service looking like new.

I just pulled the electric element out of the slot and dropped the drip pan in place and slipped the electric element back in place and it was ready to go. It looks almost new. We built a new house in 95. It took 17 months to build it. I got the stainless steel cook top that you can have the grill on one side or you can pull the grill off and slip in the burners. It is only 4 burners but it is plenty to work with. It has a down draft.

couldn't find replacement in our town, which is quite
small and no Maytag dealers. So, I ordered on line two drip bowls and saved one"just in case"

Unplugged the burner units and replaced the drip pans. Five seconds time per burner.

First I removed the screws that held the cartridge assemby together, seven screws went to each cartridge.They were easy to replace. I accidentally destroyed the original pans. I was pleased to have found partselect.com.If I would have ordered the parts I needed from an appliance supply store it would have taken two to three weeks to get the parts. Partselect not only had the parts they were able to get them delivered to me within three days. I've told my friends about this co. and I plan on continuing to do buisness with them in the future. Our old Jenn-air cooktop was at least 28 years old.They looked bad.We didn't see the need to buy a whole cooktop when the rest of the stove, fan,etc. still worked great. So I got on the Partselect web site and found a black radiant cartridge. It came exactly the day the said it would. I took out the old coil cartridge and plugged the new one. Lo, my stove now looks modern. We also ordered a terminal block. With this my husband repaired the old burned out coil burner and in about 20 minutes I had a spare to use with my canner. I really like the new cartridge and plan to buy another one. It was a pleasure to do business with Partselect.
