Remove cover and install

It was hard. I simply replaced the old one!! fIT PERFECTLY.

Removed old grease filter,replaced with new grease filter. No tools needed.
I ordered the grease filter on Tuesday and it arrived at my door on Wed.
Best experience ever ordering a part, I will definitely use Part Select again and have already recommended it to friends.

Husband got on partselect.com and read reviews, we ordered a long oven sensor kit. When it came in the mail, I took it out and look at it, decided I could probably switch the part.... and so I did. Easy Breezy ... and it worked well

Installed new thermostat. Went well. Now the oven comes on and it takes 2.5 hours to come up to 250 degrees. Help!

I simply removed the old filter and replaced it w/the new filter. It came in record time and I'm very pleased w/the service I received.

Removed the old filter from the top of stove and put the new one in. Took about 10 seconds.

I just had to drop the grease filter into the slot. It took less than a second. But what I am really pleased with is that it took less than a day and a half to get the part. I ordered it on thursday morning. It was shipped on thursday afternoon and in my driveway by friday noon!!! Wow!!! How great was that!!!!!! The fastest service I've every had for anything!! Bravo!!!!!!!! To all your workers!!!!! Rrm

The trickiest part was locating the elusive spark module. I am not certain I took the best route, but not considering all the wrong routes in trial and error, it was the most expedient. Certainly there must have been a single something to remove to get to this frequently faulted part..

Anyhow, thanks to the great part, the stove works really well again.

Parts package contained no instructions. Found all instructions on internet. I used Phillips head to remove two screws on anchor plate of Long Oven Sensor. Located at upper left, back corner of oven; access to screws is not simple/easy. Screws back out w/o difficulty. Pull/extract sensor harness through hole[back of oven] which required pushing aside insulation. The harness barely fits thru hole in oven back metal wall; I recommend using needle nose pliers ( which I ended up doing ) for ease of extraction. Disconnect harness plastic interlok clips. Perfect reconnection of new clip harness with ease. Reverse procedure to complete installation/repair. Done in just over 35 minutes due to wrestling with harness extraction through minimal hole opening. Failure occurred on Thanksgiving Day with 22lbs turkey in oven. Top of turkey contacted sensor tip which eventually caused sensor fault; result was scorched upper breast and oven shut down [safety by design]. Cook top was still operative; clock and all readings on digital control panel ceased. With new 'long oven sensor' installed - good as new. Will be sure to buy turkey(s) under 20lbs in future. First kill the power to the range. Pull the range out from the wall a bit so you can get to all the screws of the face plate. Remove all the cooktop knobs and High/Low face plates. Remove all the screws and nut screws and pull the control panel face plate off the range. I recommend taking a picture of the control panel circuit board for reference when connecting the new one. In my case the face plate was able to rest on the oven handle while I unplugged all the connections to the circuit board. Unscrew the control panel bracket and remove it. The new control panel is already in it's own new bracket. Some of the lower wiring harnesses are easier to plug into the circuit board with the bracket not screwed back into the face plate. All the poles on the circuit board are clearly marked which color wiring harness to plug in (i.e. Red, Black, Yellow, etc). Plug them all in, screw the bracket back in place. Put the face plate and screws back on as well as all the knobs and done. Discovering that the gomers who originally installed the range used duct tape to attach the flex hose to the down draft blower motor and oven was a bonus project on this repair!! I went with bailing wire to attach the flex hose which is easy to work with and a nice tight connection.

The feedback from other customers was excellent. It does come apart in layers, and it helped me to number each layer with a sticky note as I dismantled it. I also kept the screws for each layer right next to the layer, so that I knew how many screws each layer used. The only thing I can add is that the tabs to remove the innermost glass from the frame are on one of the shorter sides of the rectangular frame. The tabs are part of the frame, and when you bend them outward the side of the frame detaches and you can replace the glass easily. In addition to the #1 Philips screwdriver, all I needed was a pair of pliers to bend the tabs.

The thermocouple was suspect. It should be super easy- two screws, but the wiring harness would not pull through on my oven. I confirmed the procedure with the PartSelect video which is good. The harness was caught and broke so I had to pull the oven out partially to get to the harness. The sensor did check bad on the multimeter (resistance too high- Google it, I did) so I ordered the part. Once the new part was installed the oven still did not function. So I had to get busy with the multimeter and pull the oven again. On the back of my oven near the wire to the bake element is a Hi Limit Switch which cuts off the bake element if the outside of the oven gets above the preset temperature. Mine was cracked and faulty and had to be replaced. The oven works great now.

I watched the video, which was very helpful...the temperature sensor was hard to pull through the small opening in the upper back left oven corner. On the back wall of the oven was a large removable circle, so I unscrewed that piece and was able to gain access to the wires attached to the temperature sensor and push it through the small opening. I used one of the new connectors, pushed it back through the small opening, screwed it back onto the oven wall, replaced the circle opening and tried the oven again...unfortunately, there was no improvement in oven temperature! My JennAir wall oven is about 17 years old, and I thought I would try this $30 repair prior to purchasing a new wall oven, but it looks like I will have to do some overtime and buy a new oven. Any other suggestions would be welcome.
