This switch is used with gas ranges and ovens. The part sits on top of the valve. Once the knob is turned it will create a spark that will light the gas and starts the burner.

Burner valves are attached to the main gas line. When the switch is turned the gas then flows into a tube that mixes with air, creating the appropriate mixture for combustion.

This gas valve knob is an inch and a half in diameter. It is bisque in color and is made entirely of plastic. This knob has a gray triangle shaped indicator, and it will accept a 'D' shaped shaft.

This bumper is attached to the light switch rod.
