RK7660T2 Hotpoint Range - Instructions

It was quite easy. We first turned the power off at the main power switch. Once the power was off, we removed the two screws that fastened the metal plate in the back. We pulled the old bake element out and removed the two screws that fastened the element to two wires. To fasten the new bake element we simply reversed the procedure.

Turned off breaker, unscrewed holding plate, unscrewed element from electric connection wires, replaced element and screwed all back together, turn on breaker, oven working fine now. E-Z!

First I shut off power to the oven. Then, using a nut driver, I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and unscrewed the two screws that make the electrical connection. Removed the old element and put in the new one.

Turned on power and ran the oven for a while to verify that it worked and to burn off any oils on the element.

Removed the bad part. There were 4 screws,
Found part on the internet.
When part arrived I installed it using the screws that I removed when I took out the bad part.

Removed the 2 screws that held element in place. Pulled the element out about 2 inches to disconect the wires. I then reattached the new element and replaced the screws holding the element in place.

Removed the two screws that held the element in place. This required the use of a socket wrench. Removed the screws that were attached to the lead wires. The screws were of the sheet metal type.
Once the new element was in place I did have some difficulty attaching the screws to the lead wires. The reason for this was because the screws that came with the new element were threaded and I had a hard time getting the screws started because of the small size and the limited amount of slack from the lead wires. A magnetic screw driver would have made the job much easier.

I got the help for the install from the help desk. It went EXACTLY as described, I'm so impressed. So got the best price and the best help and we're fixed and I'm baking again. Awesome

First I Shut off the breaker from the fuse box
Tried to turn oven on to make sure I tripped the correct breaker
Removed element from back wall of oven by removing 2 screws using a socket set
Gently pull out element a few inches and then unscrew 2 wires from the bake element using a phillips screwdriver
Replace old element with the new one
Screw wires to element
Attach new element to back wall of oven making sure the rectagular hole is totally covered and the element is flush against the back wall
Replace screws attaching baking element to back of oven wall
Turn on breakers and test the oven

remove two screws from back of oven holding element to back of oven. Pull out gently, remove two screws holding wire connections(power wires) throw away old element. Place new element into oven. Reconnect element to power wires using screws. Push element back into back of oven. Replace screws holding element in place. Turn oven on to check for proper connections.

Used nut driver to remove old element and screw driver to remove power leads. Reversed process to install new element. Took about 5 minutes.

Took out the old (removed 2 screws holding the element to the back of the oven, disconnected the 2 screws attaching the electrical wires to the element). Decided to clean the oven with EasyOff. It took longer to spray this on, and then later wipe it up, than the repair itself. Reversed the procedure for the new element. A very simple repair - my wife is amazed!

Shopped online for a good price for the heating element. Thw element came very quickly, very good packaging. Removed and replaced the element.

removed old element and installed new, and oven is up and working like new
