RK7660T3 Hotpoint Range - Instructions

Turn off circuit breaker. Release bake element from back of oven with a phillips head screwdriver. Remove bake element from heating wires with an adjustable wrench. 1/4 nutdriver was a little to big large for the old screw. Do not allow wires to fall back into the installation. Reverse the procedures for installing the new bake element. Most difficult part of the repair is having old eyes and not being able to focus on the work site which is about 12- 14 inches from your eyes. Young people with good eyes no problem. Oven heats like a new unit.

having read instructions from previous PartSelect users it was a snap. Nutdriveer, and screw driver were the only tools needed. This was a wall oven and the most difficulty I had was getting to the nuts with the door open. I really didn't want to take off the door.

I shut down the electric to the oven at the circuit breaker. Then i loosened the mounting screws and pulled the element from the back wall of oven. Then i disconnected the two leads to the element with a phillips screwdriver and removed element. Installation was done in reverse order.

several months ago the bake element in my oven started cracking. When it started sparking I knew I had to replace it or get a new oven. I ordered the part and it was easy. The old one fell apart as I removed it. I honestly don't know how it was still heating. Anyway, all I did was turn off the electric to the oven, then I had to remove to screws that attached it to the wall of the oven. That was the hardest part because I couldn't see them well so I had to put a lantern in the oven. Then I had to pull it out enough to remove the screws from within. Then I just reversed the process to install and everything worked great! Saved me a lot on calling a repair man.

Removed two screws to release the burner, then two screws to disconnect the wiring and replace them. Then inserted the burner int position and replaced the two screws which were removed to remove the burner.

Very easy, however you will need a flashlight to see by since the back of the oven is rather dark.

Turned off power at breaker and removed old element and replaced new element.

Turned off electricity at fuse box. Unscrewed old element and removed. Put in new element, screwed it in. Turned on electricity. Voila.

Removed access screws from bake element cover, removed screws retaining wire connections on bake element, reverse procedure, and heat to burn off contaminants.

The bottom heating element burned out. Ordered the right part and my husband fixed the heating element. This saved a lot of money.Thanks, RM from South Carolina

Getting the part out was easy. Turned the power off (of course) first. The outside nuts were corroded, so had to use a pair of pliers to get them off. The inside connectors were easier to get off. I had a little trouble getting the connectors on the wires. The metal part on the heating element kept wanting to bend. I finally had someone hold that in place while I made the connections. The outside screws were easy to put on. The oven now works great. I think the element was failing over a period of time, and we just didn't notice. I can't remember the last time I actually saw the element get RED hot. Works great. Thanks for your quick service and reasonable prices. Will definitely use you again, when I need parts like this. Unscrewed old element and screwed in the new one.

so easy it doesn't need an explanation. Just remember to throw the breaker switch before beginning!

1) Turned off breaker and verified that the oven would not turn on. 2)Removed racks from the oven. 3) used nut driver to remove two mounting screws 4) used screwdriver to disconnect bake element from the wires. 5) used supplied screws to attach wires to new bake element. 6) pushed bake element into place and used nut driver to secure it in place with screws. 7) replaced racks 8) turned on breaker 9) tested by turning on oven with oven thermometer in place.

Flipped breaker to cut power to the oven.Loosened existing element using nutdriver to remove two screws in rear plate that attaches element to the rear wall of the oven.Pulled old element gently outward exposing two screws that attach element to existing wires.Removed those two screws with nutdriver to remove old element.Reversed the process. Turned power back on and turned on oven. Element worked perfectly.
