RK747G4T6 Hotpoint Range - Instructions

Unscrewed the two screws holding the element to the back oven wall, then I was able to pull the element out. I then unsrewed the two screws holding the two wires to the element. Installation was the reverse. Pretty simple job.

Part was a breeze to install. I turned the power off to the oven at the breaker. I then unscrewed the bolts holding the old element in and disconnected the wires. I attached the wires to the new element and bolted it back onto the oven. I turned the breaker back on an tested the new bake element. Worked great! Now it heats up like it should. The whole process was very easy.

remove two screws from back of oven holding element to back of oven. Pull out gently, remove two screws holding wire connections(power wires) throw away old element. Place new element into oven. Reconnect element to power wires using screws. Push element back into back of oven. Replace screws holding element in place. Turn oven on to check for proper connections.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires..Took out the old element and reversed tjhe procedure to install the new one

After an exhaustive search of local oven dealers and big box stores, I could not find a broiler element for my aged GE stove. I did find it online at Parts Select for about 1/3 the cost from GE online parts.

Replacement was easy-- just as described in posts for this part. The 'hardest' job was getting the screws started that hold the wires to the element-- small screws and small holes-- but just required some patience. A simple, inexpensive repair that avoided my having to replace the entire stove. Thanks!

I read your website repair testimonials by previous customers and used that advise to do the job. I liked the suggestion to use something to attach to the unattached wires so they don't slip back into the unit. I used two clothespins. I had one stubborn electrical connection to disconnect so it took a little longer -about 30 minutes. But it was a simple job to do and my oven works fine again. The item was delivered timely from the order date and packaged well. Thank-you!

several months ago the bake element in my oven started cracking. When it started sparking I knew I had to replace it or get a new oven. I ordered the part and it was easy. The old one fell apart as I removed it. I honestly don't know how it was still heating. Anyway, all I did was turn off the electric to the oven, then I had to remove to screws that attached it to the wall of the oven. That was the hardest part because I couldn't see them well so I had to put a lantern in the oven. Then I had to pull it out enough to remove the screws from within. Then I just reversed the process to install and everything worked great! Saved me a lot on calling a repair man.

First I shut off power to the oven. Then, using a nut driver, I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and unscrewed the two screws that make the electrical connection. Removed the old element and put in the new one.

Turned on power and ran the oven for a while to verify that it worked and to burn off any oils on the element.

Removed the two screws that held the element in place. This required the use of a socket wrench. Removed the screws that were attached to the lead wires. The screws were of the sheet metal type.
Once the new element was in place I did have some difficulty attaching the screws to the lead wires. The reason for this was because the screws that came with the new element were threaded and I had a hard time getting the screws started because of the small size and the limited amount of slack from the lead wires. A magnetic screw driver would have made the job much easier.

shut off circuitbreaker.removed two screws.kind of hard since screws were 25 years old and were tight.then i removed the oven door and pulled out the elementout and removed two more screws that held the wires to the element,then removed the element and replaced the new one and screwed it to the wires and thenthe next two screws that held the element in place. turn on the circuitbreaker and it was a miracle it got hot!

First I Shut off the breaker from the fuse box
Tried to turn oven on to make sure I tripped the correct breaker
Removed element from back wall of oven by removing 2 screws using a socket set
Gently pull out element a few inches and then unscrew 2 wires from the bake element using a phillips screwdriver
Replace old element with the new one
Screw wires to element
Attach new element to back wall of oven making sure the rectagular hole is totally covered and the element is flush against the back wall
Replace screws attaching baking element to back of oven wall
Turn on breakers and test the oven
