RK962G2K1 Hotpoint Range - Instructions

First job was power off! Next step was to remove the two screws holding the element to rear wall of oven. Next is was to gently pull the wires through the hole as far as possible. At this point I needed pliers to stabilize the joint while I removed the two screws of the electrical connection. Now it was easy to clean the oven to remove arc residue. Now it was a matter of reassemble. Hardest point was getting the screws started in the electrical connections without cross threading while reaching in over the door. Use pliers to ensure you don't bend the connection wires on the element. Finally remount the element with the two original screws. This was the second element to fail. Last time I removed the oven door for better access. I think it was quicker with door on but a lot more bending and reaching.

remove/replace baking element. Relatively simple to do; however, I used the old screws/nuts as they worked better than the new ones which were included.

No instructions provided, but not needed. Removed two screws holding element in place. Removed two screws connecting element to power wires. Installed new element using reverse process.

Safety first! Flipped breaker for oven in main breaker box.
Removed two screws that hold element in place.
Pulled element out approximately three inches and disconnected the two wires from the element.
Be careful not to let wires slip back into opening.
Attach wires to new element and carefully put back in correct position. Install two screws to secure.
Flip breaker back on. Turn oven on and show the little woman what a handyman you are! She might be so impressed she'll bake a cake.

I removed the plate held by 2 screws that holds the element, pulled the coil out and disconnected the yellow and red wires. Removed the broken one and connected the new one. Very simple. first remomed screws of element, then removed screws to + & - connections, removed element & replaced with new one. Was very easy to find new part thanks to your easy partselect.Thanks Alan Collins

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Took the element out and put the new element in place. Used the original screws - not the ones came with new element - to secure the new element back in place. DONE.

Removed old part, install new one.

Turned the main breaker off and locked it out. Removed the original element using a 1/4" nut driver. Installed the new element using a Philips screwdriver. Turned the power on. Tha'ts it. Easy!

I turned off the power at the breaker for the oven. I had to use a small wrench to get off the two screws keeping the bake element in the oven.

I pulled it out a bit and exposed where the element screws into the power.

To prevent the wires from receding back into the wall after I unscrewed them, I taped them to the inside of the oven.

After removing the old element, I just installed the new one the same way. Screwed it into the power, and tightened the panel to the back of the oven.

Reset the breaker, and you're good to go.

Took 10 mins tops. It is pretty cramped in there and you need a good flashlight to see what you're doing.

Turned off power at breaker and removed old element and replaced new element.

Our home was built in 1990 and has an original GE oven in it. When the bake element broke in half, I thought for sure it meant buying a new oven. removed 4 screws and exchanged units put the 4 screws back in. about 10 min.

Very simple 4 screws/nuts ...off on...done.
Best part was that I ordered the part regular shipping on a Sunday. Monday was a holiday...the part was at my doorstep at 8AM Tuesday morning. Wow that's service.
