RB526WW1 Hotpoint Range - Instructions

The repair is simple, pull out the old, plug in the new. The most difficult aspect of the repair is to make sure that you have the right part. As this is an old stove, and it was a builder model, the model number did not match exactly, and I got the wrong part which I had to return. Look at the pictures carefully as many of the parts look similar.

I flipped breaker off for electic and confirmed that power to the stove was off. I removed the 2 screws holding the control unit in place. Carefully removed all knobs and buttons and pryed the cover for the control unit off. I then removed old part, removed the wired and clipped wires to the new unit. Put cover back on - has some difficulty getting the panel back in place to line up the screws. But after a couple of attempts, was able to line up unit and put screws in place to secure. Replaced all knobs. Turn breaker back on and cooked lunch. Very easy job. Most difficult part was getting panel back in position. I would watch alignment more carefully before I removed in next time. Easy home repair for Women...not sure about my man?

It wasn't so much the repair that was needed as how impressed I was with the fast delivery. Without a fourth burner & a holiday weekend coming up I was in desperate need of my element. I ordered it around 1:00 pm on a friday & it was delivered the next day before noon! Very impressed with the ease of ordering & receiving. Thanks again.

The original controls were different for the small burners and the large burners. The replacement part fits all. Before removing wires, pay attention to writing on new and old control and replace 1 at a time. The hardest part was being sure to cut the knob stem to the correct length. Control works well.

Pretty simple really. Just pulled out the heating coils/elements, lifted out the old drip pans, dropped in the new ones and "plugged" the coils back in and Presto! New drip pans,

I removes the old element and drip bowl, then replaced the drip bowl, then replaced with the new element. Approximatly 3 minutes. . .

Got the right ones from you"could not get them at Sears.com". All is well, wife is happy again.

Replaced drip pans under burners

I simply pulled the old surface burner out, and plugged the new one in. It took less than one minute! The amazing part of this repair, is actually that PartSelect sent the replacement surface element burner OVERNIGHT! I could not believe it, and was VERY impressed with their commitment to help their customers in time of crisis. It arrived just on time for my Thanksgiving not to become a nightmare. I removed the burners, took the old drip pans out, put the new ones in and put the burners back in. This was so easy that a caveman could do it.

This is an easy repair and for anyone thinking that they might have trouble effecting it, you all have my assurance that all the heat related elements are easily replaced. These elements are basically plug in and there is a shielded area (usually placed in the northeast quadrant of the burner unit. With everything turned off, pull the burnt out surface element up and toward the southwest. It should unplug from the female receptacle. Installing a new element involves performing this in reverse by coming into the surface with the prongs facing downward towards the receptacle and then pushing towards the northeast and downward at the same time The element should click into place. The entire time necessary to effect this repair should be less than ten minutes.
