Heaty element broke in half
Our home was built in 1990 and has an original GE oven in it. When the bake element broke in half, I thought for sure it meant buying a new oven. When I looked on line and found Part Select.com, I was impressed to find the exact part I needed. I requested the part on Saturday, and it arrived on Tuesday. I installed the part on Saturday just in time for hosting our Super Bowl party and baking enchiladas! You guys saved the day! Thanks PartSelect!

Oven wouldn't heat
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Took the element out and put the new element in place. Used the original screws - not the ones came with new element - to secure the new element back in place. DONE.

Bake Element Burned Out
It is simple.

Cut off the power. Remove racks. Remove burned out element and replace with new one.

Replace racks and turn on the power. Set the clock.

I've done this about 5 times and now keep a spare element.
