RHV756*01 Hotpoint Range - Instructions

The replacement was easy: turned off breaker to range; unscrewed element from range top;opened ceramic terminal box; unscrewed element from range wires. Then I simply reversed the procedure, using the new parts. Easy to do and it only took about 10 minutes.

Easy to do . Four screws,removed cover,removed switch. Installed switch,and cover. Time 1/2 hr.

i removed the two screws that hold the element in place. i then pulled the element out and disconnected the two wires. then i connected the two wires and screwed the element back in place and now it works like new.

Removed old, burned out element, and replaced with a new element. The worst part of the entire job was getting the oven door assembled back on to the oven.

It was the 1st time in over 30 yrs. that we had to throw a Circuit Breaker Switch located outside in the communal large Metal Box between Condos. Not only did it NOT cut the power off our old GE Range - it turned off one neighbor's T.V. & another neighbor's Washer/Dryer Set.

As more Breakers were tried - MORE ANGRY NEIGHBORS ARRIVED ON THE PATIO. To complicate this - the next-door Condo just underwent extensive (read 3 Months) Renovation including REPLACING ALL WIRING..... and you might imagine the rest. No Breaker Switch numbers matched the Condo number written beside them in felt tip pen... it was complete chaos!

disconnected power
remove oven racks and oven bake shields
removed two bolts from end bracket plate on element
carefully pull bake element partly out until the electrical wires are visible, remove two small screws, remember the side of element each wire
attaches, red is power black is ground.
, replaced new element in reverse order, reattach wires to element and snug tighten , not over tighten. Element worked
like new.

Turn the power of to the stove used a 5/16 socked and unscrewed the element from the stove. Used the socket to remove the wires from the element. Installation was easy make sure you hold the end of the elements where the wires attach so they do not bend when tightening. Everything is working and back to normal. Make sure you use the model number to get the correct part needed.Part select was the best and delivery was with in 5 days.

it was hard to figure out the instructions from A switch to B switch to my switch. The first switch was no good the second one was good. prayer book didn't hurt.thank

I diagnosed the problem as a burned out element. Received the part the next day (very quick service) My husband replaced the old element with the new. My broiler still doesn't work. I don't blame the company, my diagnoses was wrong. I have called the appliance repairman and it will probably be an expensive fix.

Some times it's not the element at all, as in this case. After rmoving the element I found the wires broke. Fortunatly I had some high temp wire left over from a earlier oven repair. I used butt splices and heat shrink tubing to repair the wires. Then I crimped on a couple of eyelets and fastened things dow.n I received a big kiss form the wife for getting the broiler fixed so fast. Maybe a little extra work, but the rewards were worth it.

Even though my sons offered to do the repair, I opted to hire an appliance technician to do it and it took him at least 45 mins. with his experience and tools. apparently the inside wall wires were shorter and more difficult to access and grip and I'm glad I did. It should last another 20 years and I'll be dead!

We unscrewed the element easily enough, but had a hard time disconnecting the prongs. Once we did, we had to use a thin screwdriver to open the clamps to fit the new prongs into them. After all was accomplished and we switched on the breaker the broiler still didn't work. Either we did something wrong or the element wasn't the problem. We haven't decided our next move yet; whether to get a repairman in or buy a new oven. It's a pretty old oven/range.

First I turned the power to the stove off at the breaker box. Next I removed the two screws holding the old element in place against the back wall of the oven. I gently pulled the element forward. I wound a couple lengths of spare colored wire around the two electrical wires before disconnecting the retainer screws at their connection points. This insured that the electric wires would not fall back inside and behind the firewall. I then disconnected the screws holding the electrical wires to the broiler element. I removed the element from the oven and discarded it. I then connected the screws through wires and the connecting points of the new element. I removed the spare wires hold the electrical wires. I positioned the broiler element in place and screwed in the retainer screws securing it in place. I turned the breaker switch to the "on" position and tested the new broiler element. It tested fine. Job done in 15 to 20 minutes. An able bodied person could do it in less than 10 I'm sure.
