CEC3S5WXD Gibson Range - Instructions

Turned off range/oven breaker. Opened the oven door. Removed two 5/16 hex head screws. Pulled bake element forward and removed the two slip on electrical connections from old bake element and put them on the new one. Replaced the two screws, closed the oven door, and proceeded to overhaul the kitchen faucet.

this bake element has two special Hex style screws, securing it in place, but a nut driver worked just as well. remove the baking racks, and then loosen the two hex screws. slowly pull the element out of the back wall and then disconnect the electric leads. reinstall by doing then the opposite action. could not have be simpler.

The problem was caused by the owner placing an aluminum catch pan under the bake element. The failure of the element was where it was in contact with the pan. The repair involved removing two screws pulling out the element to access the wires. The connectors were the pull off type so I just disconnected the wires from the old element and placed them on the new element, pushed the element back in place and replaced the two retaining screws. I suggested that the owner not place anything in contact with the bake element. Be sure to up-plug the stove plug before attempting repair.

Sat on floor, pulled drawer out, inserted new clips, remounted door, stood up, high-fives myself.

The simplest repair ever! I just snapped it in and put the drawer back - fixed. I hope I have other repairs this simple.

I unplugged the stove from the power plug in the wall. There are two screws at the back of the oven to hold the element in place. I removed the two screws. There are wire clamp inserts that attach to the element. Once the element was loose from the back wall of the oven, I gently pulled out the wire clamps. Removed the element. I laid the new element in the bottom of the oven and gently pushed the wire clamps into the new element. Re-attached the screws and put the power back into the wall and I was done. Easy, easy, easy. As for the drip pans, I pulled the element from the plug just under the stove top, cleaned the element and replaced the old drip pans with the new. Slid the element back into the plug and I was done.

Take the screws out of the inside of oven for the element and slide the oven away from way and remove the back and insert the element to the clips and screw the back of the oven back together and plug in again and push back in place. Very easy for my husband to repair.

After doing without the oven for a week or so we decided to turn to the internet and try doing the repair ourselves. We are not mechanically inclined/fix it yourself kind of people. This really was easy. Just detach the old element and attached the new one. A couple of bolts and snapping one out and then the new one in. Very simple

ordered new heating element, arrived promptly as expected, compared new heating element to old one and it matched in size only diameter a little different, removed two sheet metal screws holding element in place and pulled out element to expose conductors and removed them with screwdriver. Installed conductors on new heating element slid into holes and installed screws, turned power back on(first step is to turn off power) turned on oven to preheat and she worked like a new one. first I emptied the contents of the drawer,then pulled drawer open to it's fullest, then lifted drawer so as to tilt slightly, then removed drawer by continuing to pull straight out. then I removed the glide from its protective packaging and inserted it in the same spot as the broken glide was at one time

i called Sears and ordered the element and they charged me 16.99 plus the part to ship the next day. after 1 week i called them and they said the part was on backorder. i then check with them each week almost a month and the part was still on back order, I asked if they could fix it faster if they came to the house, they informed me it would cost 65.00 for a repair person to see what part i needed and after that they would schedule m e for a repair when the part came in. meanwhile i could not use my oven. i happened to go on line and came up with your web site. i ordered the part and 2 days later my son installed it. my oven works great . your company is awsome.

The directions have been stated many time and they are quite simple. Take out the two screws, pull the element so the wire connections come through into the oven. Disconnect the element at the wire connectors and replace. This is a dirt easy job.

The only real area for a potential problem is pulling the wire connectors through into the oven. As long as you pull slow and from the back - right next to the whole, you will be fine. Take the connectors off carefully and you're golden. Easy job.

Very quick and easy fix. Used a nut driver to unscrew the bolts. Pulled it out and disconnected the two wires. I was very happy with the wonderful service we received from Partselect.com. I ordered the part Sunday evening and the part was here Tuesday by noon. I payed regular shipping charges. What a pleasant surprise!

Very simple, 2 screws, replace element, put screws back into place. The BEST thing... ordered on Tuesday afternoon, received on Wednesday afternoon, and Thursday was New Years day. This has been the best service, from any parts company, that I have ever ordered from. Keep up the good work!
