J416V2 General Electric Range - Instructions

I disconnected the 240 volt supply by removing the fuses from the fuse panel. Next I removed two screws that hold the element in place with a nutdriver. Then being careful not to short or ground the wires I pulled the element out 3 or 4 inches and turned the oven control to the on position and tested for voltage, line to line then each line to ground to be sure the correct fuses were pulled. Turned the controls back to off. Next I disconnected the wires using the same nutdriver and removed the old element.
I placed the new element in the oven, attached the wires using a screwdriver backing it up with pliers to hold the connector on the element, then slid the element into position and installed the two screws in the back of the oven, then reinstalled the fuses.
Partselect shipped the order right away. I ordered Thursday evening and received the element Monday morning using standard shipping. I wasn't able to reference the oven by part number (it is a 40 year old GE oven) but their pictures and 1" grid made it convenient to pick the correct part.
In the past I bought the main control circuitboard for my Kenmore dishwasher, a door light switch for my refigerator, a turntable motor for my GE microwave vent hood, and an element for a Maytag oven. Every time I have ordered parts they were in stock as indicated and shipped right away and were the right part.

I have to tell you i got wrong partfirst it was my mistake I got on phone and the lady understood my problem and told me procedure of returning part I got the right partnext day. I watched the video on how to do the job,although O new how. The video was a wee bit off,from what was easy.The man doing the talk through repair showed detaching the connections and bending each one back s as to not go back inside there inclosure. The connectors were way short on this one .The only way to attach the element was to take off back cover and push them together back there. Took couple extra minutes ,but job don e Ps will be ordering something soon

diagnosed repair by installing heating element from lower oven into upper oven, and it worked. Ordered proper replacement part and installed using tools above. No problem besides the tight space.

Repair went fine after I got the second element shipped to me. First element sent was DOA, so I called customer service and they credited my CC for part cost and shipping, then charged the new replacement to my account and mailed it out. Got it the next day. Repair was easy - turned off power to oven took out two screws holding element in place. Unbolted the two wires from element and installed new element. Oven element heated up cherry red and I am back to baking with an oven I thought was a gonner. Was impressed with customer service replacement process. It was fast and easy with no problems. This is a forty five year old oven. It was only four screws and it was done. The new part works like a champ! This save me from buying a $800.00 replacement. I removed the two 1/4 screws holding the element to the back of the oven and then took the flat head screws loose from the terminals on the old element. I then put everything back as it came out; took less than 5 minutes and the part arrived overnight! Thank you again!!

The repair seemed very easy, even before I attempted it. When I recieved my part it was very obvoius that this was my problem part. The old element was worn out(21 yrs old). Having Thanksgiving around the corner, my wife was happy we had a fix to our not ready to replace oven. Just replaced drip pans and rings on stove

Removed the panel screws that hold the bake element to the back of the stove. Then I disconnected the old element from the wires. Attached the new element using the provided screws. Reattached the old panel screws to hold the new bake element in place. Works great.

The new bake element doesn't have an item number on it, so I kept the old element in a cabinet someplace in case I have to replace this one again some day. I've lost the model number for my very old GE wall oven, so without that item number I'll be in trouble.

Once I watched the video pertaining to the installation of the part, the job was very easy.

Removed element and installed new element. Fit perfect, no problems.

Unscrewed four screws, removed old element, replaced with new part, done!

Simple replacement on an old "built in" range in good condition but drip pans and trim rings soiled beyond cleaning. Stove top, although 20+ years old, now looks like new. So glad to find parts were still available as "universal" replacement parts for the 8 inch burner do not fit. Delivered to my door in days.

I took the old element out, compared it to the pictures of the GE replacement elements, identified the correct one and ordered. It came I installed it in 15 minutes and it works just right. I was unable to determine the model number of my old oven so the pictures of replacement elements were invaluable. Thanks for making it so easy to avoid calling a repairman.

The replacement drip bowl and trim ring fit perfectly.

Super easy, 1 2 3 steps and your done. Make sure to turn power off, remove two screws off of back plate. Remove two screws on wire connectors. Throw old element away and connect both wires to new element and screw back into place. Turn power back on and start cooking.
