JKP61G1J3 General Electric Range - Instructions

Ordered the part on Fri. AM and it arrived Sat. PM! Could not believe how quickly it arrived. Husband replaced the old element and I am baking again! Thank you.

Removed two screws that held the element flange onto the back of the oven, then two more little screws that held the element tips to the wires in back. Installed in the reverse sequence in about 10 minutes. A whole lot cheaper than calling a repairman! Thanks, the PartSelect customer service lady was a great help in getting me the right part for a 20 year old oven too.

First, I turned of breaker for the appliance. Removed two hex head (1/4") screws that hold element in place at back of oven. Gently pulled element exposing wires connected at base of element by hex head screws. Removed the screws and olf elelemt, placed new element in place, tightened screws, inserted into base and tightned screws for plate that holds element. After turning on the breaker, I set the oven to a low temp so I could feel the heat without burning my hand and was satisfied that the element worked.

Removed two screws to release the burner, then two screws to disconnect the wiring and replace them. Then inserted the burner int position and replaced the two screws which were removed to remove the burner.

Very easy, however you will need a flashlight to see by since the back of the oven is rather dark.

Removed access screws from bake element cover, removed screws retaining wire connections on bake element, reverse procedure, and heat to burn off contaminants.

The bottom heating element burned out. Ordered the right part and my husband fixed the heating element. This saved a lot of money.Thanks, RM from South Carolina

Getting the part out was easy. Turned the power off (of course) first. The outside nuts were corroded, so had to use a pair of pliers to get them off. The inside connectors were easier to get off. I had a little trouble getting the connectors on the wires. The metal part on the heating element kept wanting to bend. I finally had someone hold that in place while I made the connections. The outside screws were easy to put on. The oven now works great. I think the element was failing over a period of time, and we just didn't notice. I can't remember the last time I actually saw the element get RED hot. Works great. Thanks for your quick service and reasonable prices. Will definitely use you again, when I need parts like this. Turned off electricity at fuse box. Unscrewed old element and removed. Put in new element, screwed it in. Turned on electricity. Voila.

Turned off power at breaker and removed old element and replaced new element.

removed the element with 2 screws. disconected element with 2 screws. reversed order to install new element.

Shopped online for a good price for the heating element. Thw element came very quickly, very good packaging. Removed and replaced the element.

Turned off the breaker. Removed 2 screws and pulled the element from encasement. Removed 2 screws holding the wires to the element.
Reversed the process to install the new coil.
Done in 10 minutes

The repair was a snap! Unscrew the two small bolts holding the back of the element in place. Pull out the element so that the connectors and wires are accessible. Unscrew the two wires from the element. Remove old element. Place new element in oven. Attach the two wires to the new element (two screws), place the new element in position and replace the two small bolts that were removed at the beginning. All done. Best thing? This is a 20 year old oven, GE didn't even have the part I needed. You did! Thanks.
