JKP38G3J5 General Electric Range - Instructions

Took out the old (removed 2 screws holding the element to the back of the oven, disconnected the 2 screws attaching the electrical wires to the element). Decided to clean the oven with EasyOff. It took longer to spray this on, and then later wipe it up, than the repair itself. Reversed the procedure for the new element. A very simple repair - my wife is amazed!

Used nut driver to remove old element and screw driver to remove power leads. Reversed process to install new element. Took about 5 minutes.

The bottom heating element burned out. Ordered the right part and my husband fixed the heating element. This saved a lot of money.Thanks, RM from South Carolina

Getting the part out was easy. Turned the power off (of course) first. The outside nuts were corroded, so had to use a pair of pliers to get them off. The inside connectors were easier to get off. I had a little trouble getting the connectors on the wires. The metal part on the heating element kept wanting to bend. I finally had someone hold that in place while I made the connections. The outside screws were easy to put on. The oven now works great. I think the element was failing over a period of time, and we just didn't notice. I can't remember the last time I actually saw the element get RED hot. Works great. Thanks for your quick service and reasonable prices. Will definitely use you again, when I need parts like this. Turned off electricity at fuse box. Unscrewed old element and removed. Put in new element, screwed it in. Turned on electricity. Voila.

Removed access screws from bake element cover, removed screws retaining wire connections on bake element, reverse procedure, and heat to burn off contaminants.

Turn off power to oven. Make sure with tester that the power is indeed off. Disconnected the two fasteners holding the old unit face plate to rear of oven. Pull the unit outward to expose the leads. Disconnected the leads. Reform new element to remove minor bends so it will sit flat on the floor of the oven. With plies holding the leads straight connect new unit to oven leads. Push new unit back into mounting hole. Reconnect new unit face plate to back of oven. Check that unit is level. Turn the power back on. Test the unit. All works just fine.

Repair was easy! I asked my son to take out the old and put in the new! He did! The oven works like new again for less than $50.00!!! Thanks!

First I shut off power to oven. Then I removed two screws from the back of the oven. Pulled elemeent out a couple of inches and diconnected from the power source. I removed the old unit and replaced it with the new one. Connected it to power source. Pushed element back into place and replaced the screws. Turn the power back on and turned on the oven. ....And there was HEAT!

I removed the two screws that hold the element in place; pulled the element out, disconnected the two wires held on by screws, replaced the element with a new one and reversed the procedure.

I removed the two screws that keep the element in place.Then I pull the element a little bit and disconnected the two wires and removed the old element. Then I reconnected the two wires on the new element then put the element back on position and put back the two screws that keep the element in place. Done.

Very simple 4 screws/nuts ...off on...done.
Best part was that I ordered the part regular shipping on a Sunday. Monday was a holiday...the part was at my doorstep at 8AM Tuesday morning. Wow that's service.

Our home was built in 1990 and has an original GE oven in it. When the bake element broke in half, I thought for sure it meant buying a new oven. First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Took the element out and put the new element in place. Used the original screws - not the ones came with new element - to secure the new element back in place. DONE.
