Oven would not ignite
First I removed the broiler from the bottom of the oven, then pulled the oven way from the wall to unplug it. I then removed the two screws that hold the igniter element in place. Ironically, the plug GE manufactures is reversed so i had to strip the plug and go end and reverse the wires to attach them to the oven. I used ceramic wire attachments as plastic would surely have melted. Replaced the screws, replaced the broilers, plugged it in, replaced against the wall and it fired up.

Converting a Natural Gas stove to propane
First just unscrew each natural gas jet and install the propane jets. if they are hard to come off just turn your wrench back and forth first until the jet turns with your fingers. Then open the oven and take out the racks. In the bottom back of the inside of the oven there is a screw on each side. Unscrew both screws lift the bototom plate of the oven and slide it back about 1/2 inch then lift out of the oven. Move the 1 screw covering the heat shield from the oven jet. Then light the top burners and turn them off just to get the gas flowing. Also light the pilot in the oven, then light the oven. To convert the oven from natural gas to propane all you have to do is adjust the jet while the oven is lit. turn the oven jet ubtil there is a blue flame with little or no yellow tips on the flames.

GAS OVEN WOULDN'T LIGHT
With the model number I wnet on Parts select site and located the part through the problem finder selection,(GREATFEATURE!) (74% the problem is the Flat Style Oven Igniter) (watched the video on installation and compared my unit with the one in the video). The video explained installation completely and made it very simple. The only critic is that the oven door can be removed completely to make it easier to get in the the oven, opening part way and lifting up the oven door will come completely off. Also the broiler pan drawer can be taken completely out if you would need to get in this way for some reason. Final note: I called the local GE dealer Parts dept- they would have had to order the part anyway and it would have cost three times what Parts Select charged me.Save $$$ great! .

replace ignition electrodes for GE gas stove
You need to remove the knobs and remove the panel where the knobs are connected.

You also need to remove the display panel front to gain access to the where the electrode wires attach.

The other screws are readily visible. It's about 30 screws that need to be pulled.

The adapter put on the electrode can be pulled off with needle nose pliers and a small screwdriver, if the adapter does not fit through the opening on your stove. Just put the adapter back on after you snake the wires through.

Replace glowbar igniter
Removed the old glowbar's two screws. Didn't take a mental photo of its proper placcement (or a real one, which would've been smart). Removed screws holding 1) a heat protection plate, and 2) wire harness plate. Installed the new glowbar, hopefully, the right way - with its heat-plate facing the gasline of the over/broiler. Reinstalled the heat protection plate and wire harness plate. Hasn't blown up yet!

Rusted & Dirty Burners
I moved to an apartment where the past tenants did not take care of the stove. I think this stove is 10+ years old and looks like it was never cleaned in all of its existance! I cleaned everything really well with oven cleaner and lots of scrubbing. The stove looked brand new except the burners! I couldn't take it anymore so I ordered new ones. The burners came in less time than stated. I opened the box, took the burners out, lifted the oven hood and just placed them right where the others were. There are no tools needed it pretty much just gets placed down in the appropriate spot and that's that! No directions or tools needed. My stove looks awesome now!! When you first use the burners, you will probably need to place a match or lighter by the burner to get the fire going. After that, it lights perfectly every time.

A section of the gasket came off the door. It was causing heat to escape.
Found the Model information under the bottom drawer. Googled GE Range and rubber, found this vendor. Amazing, the replacement gasket was exactly as the original. Took the old gasket off with needle nose pliers, there were small metal clamps that had to be pinched together. Once the old gasket was off, the new one practically installed itself. Woman Power!

Baking is MUCH better now!

Part will wear out after a couple of years
In my case it was the lower burner so I unplugged oven and turned gas off.
Then I removed the bottom drawer, and the lower burner cover.
Next unplug Oven Igniter, found where drawer existed.
Removed 2 screws attaching Igniter using nutdriver
Placed new Igniter on
Plug Igniter in and tested oven
Replace burner cover and drawer

This was much easier then what I went through with a repair man the first time around. These Igniter are designed for certain model stoves and are not interchangable with other model stoves!!!
