The only hard part of the job is removing the old, corroded terminal block. Be careful not to break the electrical wire. Other than that, just sand the contacts and reassemble. This is the second one I have replace on my 4 burner stove. 2 more to go.

Without taking off the door, which made it a little more difficult, all I had to do was unscrew two screws and disconnect the wires from the element and replace with new element and screw it back in.

Other than the screws were in there for 28 years that made one a bit hard to remove, the task was simple.

Actually you are right, I removed the two screw pulled the element out , disconnected the two wires holding the old element and put the new one on. I spent more time finding out whether or not it would be safe to work on it, being on my own for the first time and always had someone do it for me. I was told as long as the oven was not on it was safe and so I went to work. I was also very impressed at the short time it took to get the part. Three days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First I turned off the power to the stove,removed oven racks,removed the two screws that held the element in place,pulled unit out a couple inches ,removed the two screws that held the wires in place ,removed element.
Placed new unit where old one went and placed wires in proper order and put together and placed back . turned power back on and WALAA......nothing......apparently that wasnt the problem....Husband baught me a new stove,after 35 years why not.

Simple replacement. Price for replacement was excellent. Cheaper than any replacement I priced locally and arrived the day after I ordered.

Removed the two screws which held the element in place. Then I pulled the element out about 2-3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Of course I turned off the breaker which fed the range. This had been done earlier so that wife could throughly clean the oven while the element was out of the way, When the new element arrived, we put it into the oven, reconnected the wires to the lugs on the element, pushed it back into the hole, pushed the insulation which protruded back into the hole, and replaced the two screws which held the back plate in place. Turned the breaker back on and turned oven on to test the repair job. Everything worked AOK.

My sons helped with that. They had to use a pliers to remove the old screws (did not have to notches). After that they they removed the element. Then the wires had to be disconnected (after we unplug the oven from the main power source. Then the wires were connected to the new heating unit. We only got one screw in so far will work on getting the second one in when they return tomorrow. I did turn on the oven and it works!!!

1)Unscrewed the mounting nuts, 2) pulled the heating element out a couple of inches, 3) unscrewed the screws holding the wires in place, 4) removed and tossed the old heating element, 5) placed the new heating element in place, 6) re-screwed the wires to to the element, 7) pushed the heating element back into the wall of the oven, 8) reset the mounting nuts, 9) cleaned up the work area, 10) cranked up the oven and made a pizza. I'm not particularly skilled when it comes to things of this nature, but it was ridiculously easy...

All other reviews decribed the repare process that I used with no problems. The only reason I took about twenty minutes instead of around 15 minutes was it took me a few minutes to get the correct socket to remove the two small lag screws of the old bake element to free it from the oven wall. I did not have to remove the oven door as it was not a problem in reaching the back of the oven. My range is 25 years old.

Unplugged oven, removed 2 screws that hold the element in place. Pulled element to expose wires. Disconnected wires & removed old element. Reversed removal for installation, plugged in and worked great.

I first remove the oven door, which is very east on this model. You tilt it a quarter of the way when you open it to use and pull up. It comes off very easy. My second step was pulling on the bake element towards the front. It will expose the wiring connection to the bake element. You will see two wire that are attached by two one screw for each connection. You will need a nut driver to remove. The removal is very simple. Note: Please be sure to turn off your circuit breaker to the oven! ( this is a safety measure,plus it will make you more at ease with the installation. You then can remove the screw nuts & replace with you new bake element. A real piece of cake & very easy even for a average home-owner. Thanks to Part Select for ease of ordering this item. I had begged my husband for 1 1/2 years to fix the oven and he said it would be cheaper to buy a new one but he wouldn't go buy one. So I decided to fix it myself. I removed the screws that hold the element and then I pulled the element out and disconnected the wires. I then hooked the wires to the new element and pushed it back in place and attached the two screws. I made sure to put the insulation back in place and now I can cook cornbread again! First I removed the 2 screws holding the element in place then pulled the element out a few inches.
I removed the 2 screws that connected the wires to the element and removed old element from oven. The new element was placed in the oven and connected by reversing the steps just described. New element works perfectly!
