PCB900SP2SS General Electric Range - Instructions

I turned the breaker off to the stove and moved it away from the wall. I then removed the center cover off the back of the stove and exposed the wires connected to the bake element. I removed the wires from the bake element and then opened the oven and removed the two bolts holding the element onto the back wall of the oven. I discarded the old element and replaced it with the new first bolting the new in , then connected the two wires and replaced the rear cover. Turned on the power and made a cake.

First unplug the unit from the outlet. Then remove the rear cover, covering the electrical wires. Disconnect the hot /ground wires from the element leads. Then open the oven door and use the nut driver to remove the inner screws to release the bake element. Insert new element and replace all screws and electrical leads. You're all done!

I removed the racks and oven door. I used a socket to remove the screws that secured the element. I pulled the element out to gain access to the wire connectors and used pliers to remove the wires from their connectors to the burned out element. I installed the new element by using the pliers to secure the wire connectors to the element and then installed the element with the socket thus securing the element with the screws.

So easy. Took extra time so the wife would think it was harder. Just read the other reviews for instructions. Didn't have an issue with the wires pulling back into the oven though I did have my "clips" ready.

We decided to go "on line" to see if there was any way to fix the stove ourselves and found the Part Select website. After entering the model number for the stove, we were able to find the heating element. We ordered it and received it two days later! We saved money and time. Thank you!

Followed example on YouTube! Very easy.

First I pulled stove out away from wall and unplugged the power cord then I removed the oven door to make repair much easier. I removed the two screws holding the heating element in place. I then went behind stove and unscrewed four screws to remove panel covering the electrical connections. Disconnected wires to heating element. Removed old element and reversed each step to connect new element.

Unplugged oven, turned off breaker, took cover off back of oven, removed old sensor by disconnecting in back of oven and undoing screw inside oven. Pulled old one out replaced with new took 15min. Cost me less than $20. Parts Select rocks! Even received part in two days with standard shipping!

First- I slid the ove out and unscrewed the back metal piece/flap that covers where the element attaches to wires.
Second- I unscrewed the two nuts/screws that holld the element in place-An appropriately sized socket wrench would have made it way easier.
Third-Before pulling the element out, I disconnected the wire connection-the element tab just slid out of the connector.
Fourth- Pull out the old element and replace with new one. Attach wires before screwing in the element place holders.
Fifth-Replace back cover and screws. slide oven back into its nook,
Sixth-Bake some cookies.

First my husband removed the two screws that hold the element in place. Then pulled the element out and diconnected the two wires. The wires popped back in, so he took the shield off the back, I pushed the element in so he could see the prongs and hooked the wired back on. He then replaced the 2 screws and i was back to baking.

2 screws removed holding element in. Wires are very short and after removing from the element one wire went back into the insulation. Had to remove the back from the range to get access to wires.

Removed 2 hex head machine screws. Picked up on the element and slid wires through. One wire became unattached. Removed back panel, pushed wire through the oven wall, and replaced the back panel. Wires connected with push on connectors. Pushed attachment assembly back through the oven wall and replaced 2 machine screws. Viola! Working oven.

Unplugged the stove.

Needed 1/4 inch socket to remove screws holding element and the back panel.

Removed the electrical connections on the element and then removed the old element and replaced with the new element.

Replaced screws holding the element in the oven.

Replace the electrical connections on the element in the back of the stove.

Replaced the back panel.

Plugged the stove in and tested out.

Read posts on this site by others who did the same repair and found that to be a great help especially since the part came with out instructions.
From the posts I was expecting the wires to be short and had vice grips available to stop them from sliding back through the insulation. One still did though. I took off the back plate and pushed it back through. Piece of cake. The clips on the end of the wires were pretty loose and I used some needle nose to crimp them down. I also made sure to unplug the oven prior to starting.
