JBP23DR1CC General Electric Range - Instructions

Performed repair using a video for reference.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then went to pull the element out and one of the wires touched the side of the access hole. There was a spark and the electrical breaker tripped. (Remember to always shut the electricity off first). Before I put the new element in I took off the access panel on the back of the range, slid in the new element, attached the two screwd that hold the element in place. Then I went around to the back of the range and re-connected the wires from that location to make sure there was nothing around the wires that would spark. Put the access plate back on and I was done.

Unplug stove from its wall outlet. Remove two screws securing rear panel. Pull off knob to Burner control which was damaged when surface
heating element shorted out. Remove two screws securing control knob.
When removing control knob be sure the wires removed from the old control knob are put back on in the same position on the new knob. Reinstall the control knob, and reinstall screws. To remove heating element. Just lift it out and unplug and just plug the new one.

I turned off the circuit breaker and unplugged the stove. I removed the back panel and marked the location of the wires on the new oven clock control. I detached the wires and removed the old card. I installed the new one and reconnected the wires. I plugged the stove and turned on the circuit breaker. All the lights came on and the oven worked fine. I reinstalled the back panel and it took me less than thirty minutes to complete the job.

I first pulled the stove away from the wall to unplug and look from the rear. Look at the wiring from the back (you may have to remove 2 screws and the plate that covers the wiring) and take a picture of it if you can with your smart phone - this way when you go to put it back you have a reference. I then removed the oven racks and the 2 little bolts holding the element in place. Wiggle it toward you slowly so the wires don't pull off. It's easier if you use needle nose pliers to get the fittings off, if its hard wiggle the fitting it will come off. I put the connections on the new element and squeezed them tight not to move. I did put a small piece of electrical tape on the connection ends for my piece of mind. Screw it back in and, plug it in and turn on. If the element starts to glow your done, put the cover back on over the wires and slide it back in place. If your kind of handy you can do it.

Pulled stove out and unplugged. At the rear of the range there were 4 faster. Used a nutdriver piece in an electric drill. Pulled off the cover and located the switch. At the front of the stove, I removed the knob and unscrewed two screws releasing the switch. I undid and replaced each wire connector one-by-one to avoid any wrong connections. Replaced and secured the switch and replace the back panel. All secured, power on and fixed! Easy repair, but something that had been put off for a year!

Took out the 2 screws,Pulled out the stove
Took the back off ,took the wires out of the little place where they fit in,Removed the old element.
Put the new one in Fitted the little thing which looked like a alumium flat piece back where we took the old one out.Put the back back on cut it on wheepe In business.Also the new element came here faster than I thought it would .I,m a 71 yearold grandmother.Pretty simple.

1st and formost, unplug the range from the outlet or shut th breaker off (Ranges are on a seperate breaker). Detach 2 wires on the back of the range connected to the element. Remove three nut screws inside the oven holding the old element in place . 1 on the top and 2 at the back of the oven. Now just reverse this procedure to install the new element and your all done.

I got tired of trying to find the right parts in the stores and decided to order them. Finally I have the drip pans that fit my range!

Took off the ring burners and the old drip pans . installed the new drip pans and the old burners took less than 3 minutes...so easy

Fue muy facil desconectar primero la estufa despues quite los tornillos de la parte superior detras de la estufa, desconecte un cable del switch y lo conecte en el nuevo despues el siguiente hasta conectar todos los cables en el nuevo switch. Lo mejor es desconectar uno por uno para mo mesclar los cables , despues removi el switch de la estufa y puse el nuevo , puse las partes de regreso y listo conecte la estufa t revise si funcionava el quemador y listo sin ningun problema.

Received part very quickly, easy to install, just give yourself enough wire on terminals when you pull them out, I let mine slip into holes they come out of and had to fish it out. EASY job.

First , I have been working on electrical equipment for many years....and I forgot to un plug the unit from the wall. I assumed that if the oven was turned off I could remove the element, WRONG. One of the leads from the cord is wired directly to one lead of the element. When I tried to remove the element it shorted out against the wall of the oven. Then I turned the breaker off, unplugged the stove and finished the repair in about 10 minutes. Always unplug it first!.

First I pull the stove out and unplug it. Than I removed the back cover by using an adjustable wrench. I unplug the element two wires. Then I opened up the oven on the stove and removed the racks and using the adjustable wrench remove the two bolts that mounted the heating elements. Replace with new element secured with bolts and connect the two wires to the heating element and put back on the back plate and plug the unit back into the wall.
