It all began one find night baking and suddenly the oven would not light up. And so for the next few years all I ever used the stove for was for stove top cooking, See Im a single guy so its not in my nature to get to fancy when it comes to cooking home meals,but after a while the mood changes and you finally get up the motivation to fix whats wrong. The change over went easy,easier than I expected.And the part worked just fine. As far as ease of the order and receipt,couldnt have been better,I got the part within 48hrs and that is fast! Disconnect power. Remove oven door, oven racks, bottom pan, drawer below the oven. unsnap igniter wire connector. Remove two screws holding the igniter in place, remove igniter.

Install igniter (placing igniter wires away from any heat producing parts) and all parts in reverse order as they were removed.

Oven heats good now, makes great cornbread and biscuits, the wife helps the oven do this.

removed two screws and took out bottom tray and put the new one in and replaced the screws.DId it my self.

I followed the "Test Procedures" on your site { VOM to test the Temperature Sensor and observed the intensity of the Igniter } and found both items were not at specs. Although your video did not depict my model oven exactly, it showed me enough details on how to get to and change out the parts. IE: The connector plug for the Flat Style Oven Igniter had to be accessed through the Warning Draw and not the Oven as shown in the video. A minor issue.
I found your test and safety procedures, how to video's and ease of ordering the required parts fantastic. Most importantly the parts arrived in one day and a half. A very satisfying experience, Thank you

I had to call for a appointment for repair with GE Appliance because I thought then it . .was something electrical. The technician came out & checked everything out, turned out it was not electrical, The technician went out to his truck got a light bulb from his truck, put it in & it worked. It cost me $121.00 for trip charge from GE appliance for a light bulb that worked, your light bulbs were defective twice. Very disappointed with your products, cost me alot of money for a good light bulb thru GE appliance

Very simple repair with no tools required. Turn off power to stove. Remove grates, remove burner, pull old Top Burner Spark Electrode up being careful not to jerk it up hard - wiggle if necessary, unplug wire from old electrode, plug wire into new electrode making sure it fits snug - if not, squeeze it closed a little at a time until it fits snug, push new igniter into place being careful not to force it and crack the ceramic body. Install burner being careful not to damage the electrode, Install grates. Turn power back on and test to make sure it works. It took me all of 15 minutes to change 2 burner spark electrodes. The only bad thing about this repair is that the shipping costs as much as the parts.

1) Turn off power at circuit breaker panel
2) Slide out Range from wall
3) Unplug Range
4) Remove back panel and unplug electrical connections to socket
5) From front of oven, remove glass cover over old oven light bulb and remove flange that holds socket and bulb
6) Remove old socket from mounting flange and discard.
7) Place new socket into mounting flange
8) Screw mounting flange and new socket into the oven from front. Reattach electrical connections from back.
9) Screw in new light bulb from front
10) Replace existing glass cover over new light bulb and snap wire holder in place
11) Replace back panel
11) Plug in range
12) Slide range back to original position
13) Turn on power
Works like a charm! Thanks for having the parts after 30 years!

Pretty easy in all. The connector from the igniter to teh power sorce didn't quite fit. Ijust cut off the new one and spliced the old one back on. Probably could have made my life easier if I took off the oven door, but it just meant I had to reach more. Works great, and other the connector, which I didn't really think would fit a 15 year old oven,it was very easy/.

Compressing the spring to apply the retainer clip was some what of a challange. But, everything went fine. Mission accomplished.

New burner cap replaced old; just placed over burner; no tools required.

One suggestion: burner cap should have been shipped with thicker bubble protection (easy to do). It was minimally wrapped and placed in a thin, bubble envelope, risking damage in shipping process. Luckily, the burner arrived in tact and usable.

changed the knob to the new one. Light bulb still working-bought a new one in the event it burnout.

Just put it on. Quite proud of myself for figuring out what and how to get the part however! The website was very helpful.

Once we knew which part was needed, we went on to your site and orded the part. It was delivered the next day! Partselect.com is bookmarked on every computer in our household, including mobiles. It's great to know there is such a fantastic resource for do-it-youselfers. It took 5 minutes to remove the old igniter and plug in the new. A screwdriver is the only tool required.

I removed the door and the racks, and the flame spreader. I removed the 4"X6" shield loosen the circular flap to plug the new igniter to the recepticle. Turn the oven on to check the operation and if it comes on, button it back up. remember open the oven door approx 3" and pull upwords to remove the door. I would say 90% of the time the igniter is the problem.

Took longer to open the box.
