old burned caught on fire
I've been looking for an 8" replacement burner for my GE stove after my original burner caught on fire over a year ago. I had all but given up on finding a replacement after searching at all the stores in my area and also searching on the net. After cooking sides for Thanksgiving dinner this year and the pain of cooking with only 1 large burner, I decided to search again for a burner on line and thank goodness I found this site! All I did was put in the model number of my range/stove and the site directed me to the replacement burner. The picture of the burner looked like mine, so I decided to purchase it but I still wasn't convinced it would fit and work because of my failed previous burner purchases. I really thought my burner was too old and the part was no longer made. Well the part shipped very quickly and lo and behold it fit and worked! Installing was a breeze...I just snapped it in...thanks so much!

The control knob stem broke off when I moved the stove.
I located and removed 2 sets of hex-head screws under the front lip of the cooktop, then lifted the entire cooktop to access the burner controls. Removed the wires and taped them, and took out the old control after removing 2 phillips head screws. Installed replacement part easily. Only tricky part is that the various shaft adapters don't quite work with my knob. I'll fix it completely with a bit of epoxy and the adapters they sent.

metal ends for connecting surface element to stove broke off in the outlet.
disconnected electricity, used pinch pliers to remove broken ends from connection box and used an already existing element to make sure a new one would work at all. Ordered new one that arrived very quickly and replaced the broken one. After years of taking these in and out for cleaning by outside cleaning help they are bound to break off. I will do the gentle removal from now on.

Bake element went out in electric oven.
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and unscrewed the the two screws that connected the wires and element together. I then tried to connect the new element to the wires, but found that the screw holes were smaller than the original holes in the old element and the original screws wouldn't fit. No problem, I then got a cordless drill and found a drill bit a little bigger than the holes, I held the element connector with pliers and made the screw hole a little bigger, same with the other connector. I screwed the screws into the connectors with a socket wrench and then screwed the element back into the holes in the oven, then turned on the oven and it works as good as new.

Surface element burned out
Removed old burner, plugged in new burner. Turned on electric and everything worked fine. I was concerned that I would not be able to get the correct burner since my stove is approximately 30 years old and General Electric no longer stocks replacement parts. The new surface element was manufactured by General Electric and had the correct replacement number on the package. Thanks Part Select.

The burner stopped working
After checking at local appliance stores and unable to find the bunner I went online looking. I found this site and there it was. I ordered it, received it within two days, took the old one out and the new one in. As my granddaughter says, "easy peasy lemon squeeze". It took all of five seconds and I'm cooking again.

A end bracket for the oven door handle was loose. The internal socket (anchor) holding the screww that joints the bracket to the oven door snapped.screw
Remove the front panel, at which time the spring loaded door slammed closed while the paned and handle were in my hand. Fortunately I had a star bit to fit the screw holding the door and panel together. The parts should come with 2 screws since the part has holes for 2. note: the factory installed handle only had 1 screw in each side.

R had ight front control made loud noise when contacts opened.
This is twin oven range with controls at side of upper oven. Control panel was fastened with screws at top and bottom. Range has built-in hood at top which had to be disassembled to reach top screw. Once had access to top screw, eaisly removed control panel and replaced control. New control had identical connections as old control so only had to install it, break shaft to correct length, and use proper shaft adapter for knob. Remounted control panel and range worked perfectly. This would have been a very quick job except for having to deal with the built-in range hood.

Scorched Element
It wasn't so much the repair that was needed as how impressed I was with the fast delivery. Without a fourth burner & a holiday weekend coming up I was in desperate need of my element. I ordered it around 1:00 pm on a friday & it was delivered the next day before noon! Very impressed with the ease of ordering & receiving. Thanks again.
