Bottom oven rack had been NUKED!
This is far to simple to even be a worthy story ,other than that the cause is a bit interesting. My wife had placed a plastic cutting board and some meat into the oven to get it away from my counter-cruising dog.
Later, without remembering the cutting board she turned the oven on to "broil." Hmmmm...

REPAIR:
Open oven door
Put in new rack
Close door

The end cap door handles on our range were broken.
The parts were shipped quickly and were what I ordered. The one suggestion I would make to the installer would be to drill out the insert holes a bit in the plastic columns in the inside of the bracket. There are two such columns and they are used to provide further strength to the end cap. However, the diameter of the screw is too large for the insert hole because as I installed the first bracket one of these columns broke. After drilling out the insert hole, the screws were still snug and the end cap (and door handle) was quite solid.

oven would not get hot
ordered over the phone a new temp sensor. Un plug the oven, take off the back, open oven and unscrew the temp sensor, pull the sensor until the elec connector clip comes through so you can unclip the old sensor, clip on the new then pull the line back and re attach the sensor to the ovn. Plug in the oven.
Pretty simple, just hard to work inside the oven. I unclipped the sensor line outside the oven to make sure it would come apart first before I was working inside the oven.

lower oven coil caught on fire and then wouldn't work (shock)
I removed the screws holding the element in place and pulled it out, then pulled the wires from the element out. Very easy. When I got the new part, it seemed like it would be simple. I plugged the new wires back in and started to push it in place to screw it in. Unfortunately, there was a big spark and everything died. I was afraid I had crossed the wires, and I'm still not sure how one is supposed to tell which wire plugs in to which holder in the oven. Luckily, I discovered that I had simply blown a fuse. Problem solved, everything works.

Bake element caught fire and broke in two
Removed the two screws which mount the element to the back of the stove.
The old element had screws connecting the wires to the heat element. The new element needed female electro-terms, so I crimped the appropriate electro terms on. If you need to do this make sure you use the correct electro-terms based on the wire size from the stove.
Installed new element in 2 minutes.
Parts Select had the part here within two days with standard ground shipping. Very impressed with service.
A clearer description of how the part connected to the wires from the stove would have been helpful.

melted electric range element
Because of the superb pics and descriptions on the Part Select site, I was able (with NO range model number) to order the correct range element for beloved son's stove. He plugged it in in 3 seconds, works great !

The light inside the oven had burned out
0. As a safety precaution, unplug the range or hit the relevant fuse breaker before you start. You might also want to grab a flashlight. Definitely do not try to do this while the oven is hot.
1. Pinch the wire over the light bulb cap to remove it. This is inside the oven at the back.
2. Pop off the hemispherical glass cap.
3. Unscrew the old light bulb, and screw the new light bulb in its place.
4. Put the cap back.
5. Secure the cap by putting the wire back in its slots on the cap.

No tools needed, the cap is just held in place with pressure from the wire.

Melted plastic colander on a burner
I simply replaced the element. HOWEVER, the most wonderful parts of this repair...Because of the pictures and closeups and descriptions I knew exactly 'what' to order! And I had the replacement in less than 24 hours. I can do some home repairs but this company provided such detailed information AND speed of delivery...that this was a no-fuss fix. I'll definitely stop by to buy, again. Thanks!

one of the burners was not working, the terminal block that the burner pluges into was burnt
I followed the instructions given to me in the package and all went well. I cut the old wires off the burnt terminal block, stripped the wires, installed the wire nuts with the shrink rap, installed the new terminal block and burner. The new burner is working great! Thanks

50 year old oven bake element died
After staring at the online pictures of possible replacement bake elements, trying to count the number of squares to figure the length and width of available oven bake elements (some of the pics had listed measurement some did not), I settled on a push on element, since there were no matching screw in elements that appeared to come close to the measurements needed. Since it was a push on, I had to drill out the holes a bit more to fit the screws which took some time and finesse. It appears to works and it at least has enabled me to put off my bigger decision of buying a newer oven for a bit.

Halogen element staying on
removed the end caps from the stove panel, unscrewed the back, unscrewed the old switch, CAREFULLY noting which wire went to which terminal, removed the wires.
Reversed the process. took a little longer because I felt compelled to do a thorough cleaning while I was there.

Shorted out the burner... fat gets into the receptors on these old stoves.
The only hard part about putting in a new terminal block (and this time I had to replace the burner too, because that fried too) is stripping the stove wires, because that thermal insulation is very hard to get off. Otherwise, it's simple. In this case, I had already replaced this one (sigh), so had already cut & stripped the wires, so it was all easy. Frankly, the sane thing to do is buy a new stove, but wife is too cheap.

Old bake element was burnt out.
Flipped off the breaker for the stove. There were two screws holding the old element in place. Removed those, pulled the element out a little to expose two wires, disconnected those, swapped in the new element, reconnected the wires, and screwed it back into place. Flipped the breaker back on and voila! Barely more difficult than changing a lightbulb.
