Original element stopped working
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires...I copy and pasted this from their example - it really is that easy - this is a simple repair.

Replacing a burned out oven heating element
First I removed two hex nuts holding the element's faceplate to the back of the oven and pulled the entire element straight toward me a couple of inches, pulling the element's ends and connections into view. I unscrewed the two screws holding the element ends to their connections, connected the new element, pushed it back in place, and screwed the faceplate tight again. The most challenging part of the whole process was finding the part number for the GE oven (it's on the frame of the storage drawer underneath the stove).

Bake unit had burned out.
My husband removed the two screws that hold the element in place. He then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. He then removed the old bake unit and replaced it with the new one. He reattached the wires and pushed the element into place. Then he put the two screws back in that hold the element in place.

Oven wouldn't heat, lower heating element burned out
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Removed the element and replaced with the new. Reattaching the wires and securing the new element back in place with the screws provided. Packed well, shipped promptly, installed quickly. Super easy.

Baking element went out
The hardest part of this entire repair was locating the right socket and explaining why/how I burned my fingers (yes I had to touch the element to prove to myself it was that easy to fix and worked). 4 screws, 1 replacement part 5 minutes no cussing. This was the easiest repair I have ever done.

Bake element had burnt out in the center
First I removed the 2 mounting screws that mount the element to the back wall in the oven, then pulled the element out about 4 to 5 inches, then removed the 2 screws attaching the wires to the element, then reversed the process to instal the new element. The only tool reguired was a 1/4 inch nut driver. Did the job in about 5 Minutes. The replacement fit and works perfectly.

Stove element went bad!
The complete repair was quick, easy, and painless. Not only did my item show up sooner than I thought the whole replacement took only 15 minutes, tops, to complete. I even had my 18 months old daughter helping too.

First and foremost I turned off the power to the oven by tripping the circuit breaker in the basement. Then verifying that the oven or stove top did not work to insure that the correct circuit breaker was tripped.

Then I removed the two mounting bolts on the support plate, that holds the element in place, from the rear wall of the oven. Then slide out the element just far enough to gain access to the wires that are attached to the element, about 3-6 inches. Carefully removed the two wires from the element with a screwdriver, noticing how flexible the ends of the element were. Removed the old element out of the oven. Placed the new element into the oven and then reattached the two wires to the new element terminals, being careful not to bend the ends of the element too much, very flexible!! Slide the element back into place and then reattached the mounting bolts. Turned all power back on to the stove and then turned the oven on and presto!, my oven is fully functional again.

element went out on oven
Made sure oven was turned off. I used nut driver to remove nuts holding old element to back of oven. gently pulled element out of wall, taking care not to yank because of wires attached to back of element. Made sure oven was off again and then used nut driver to carefully remove wire leads from receptors on element. removed old element from oven and got the new element. carefully used nut driver to attach wire leads to new element. When snugging the bolts to leads, used pliers to keep leads on the element from bending. carefully replaced wires and rear of element into the space behind oven, and used nut driver to attach the back of element to the back of oven. shut oven and turned on to make sure it worked. it did. I was very pleased with my experience with part select dot com, and will be buying another element soon to replace the one in my other oven! Thank you

The element fried and broke in half.
I was lucky to look at other repair stories because I forgot to turn off the power!!! Nothing happen to me, but it was as simple as everybody else said. Unscrew the two screws, pull out element, unscrew another two screws and put back together in reverse order. Viola, the oven was back in working order just in time for a major event the next day. Baking element burned out.
I turned off the breaker, removed two screws that held the element in place, pulled it out about four inches, disconnected the screws securing the wires to the element. Removed the old element, placed the new one in the oven and reversed the procedure.

Oven wouldn't heat
Couldn't be a much simpler repair. You pull the old element off by removing two screws. Then you slide the old element toward you several inches and remove the two screws holding the wires that are attached to the old element. To replace, just do everything in reverse. One cautionary measure, even though the oven is off, there is still a small amount of electricity going to the element. Turn the stove off at the circuit breaker, or unplug the stove before you attempt the repair.

Oven element melted then naturally would not heat.
First I removed the two screws that held the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Then I removed the old element from the oven and replaced it with the new element. Then I connected the two wires to the new element and pushed the element into place. Then I replaced the two screws that held the element in place. I then tested the oven and it worked wonderfully.

The bottom bake element burned out.
1. Cut power off. 2. Remove old element, make sure you do not lose the screws, pull the connecting posts out and we used strings on posts so they could not get lost in the wall. 3. We then replaced the new element with little of no problems, it took approximately 30-45 minutes for the whole process.

The bake element was missing from the oven
The bake element was completely missing from the stove. There were two wires sticking out of the back of the oven, one with a terminal on the end and the other with the insulation still on and no bare wire showing/ The right side mounting screw was there..

The left mounting screw hole on the oven had been drilled out oversized, so I drilled another hole in the mounting plate above the original., after attaching the element with a single screw.

I removed the one screw, removed the bake element and pulled the electrical wire without the terminal end. Next, I put a terminal on the wire and attached the wires to the element. Finally I installed the element with the two screw into the rear of the oven.

Unfortunately the element didn't work, so my next step is to trace the wiring and determine if a switch or thermostat might be faulty. I have checked the continuity of the wires from the bake element to the thermostat.

elememt not working
Hi, First unplug appliance ,remove the oven door by pulling it up from the hinges, giving room to work deep inside , remove the two screws that hold the element in place. then pull the element out carefully not to stress the wires and replace the element . Note after all is done test with an oven thermometor :)
