FMV145KB001 General Electric Range - Instructions

Simple as could be: unplug the microwave, remove 5 phillips screws to access the motor, remove the 2 phillips screws holding the motor in place, un-clip the motor from it's power supply, and reverse the process; you're done! It took all of 3 minutes to complete.

Removed one screw, installed new lense in lense frame, rescrewed. Done.

Removed the five screws that allowed the bottom panel of the microwave to drop down at an angle, still attached at the rear. Took the old motor out by removing the two screws holding it and replaced it with the new motor. Reversed to process to install the new motor. Had to take off the plastic piece inside the microwave that holds the glass plate that turns and then replace it after I got the new motor installed.

First I unpluged the power cord. Then I removed five screws on the bottom panel which will swing down to reveal the turntable motor. I removed the electrical plug from the motor and the two screws that hold the motor in place. Put the new motor in place and align the flat side of the motor shaft with the hole in the bottom of the turntable. Fasten the two screws that hold the motor back in place and reconnect the power plug to the motor. Swing the bottom panel back in place and secure with the five screws. Plug the power cord back in and reset the clock and you are ready to use the microwave.

This was a very simple do-it-yourself repair and information on the partselect website was very helpful. The order and shipping process was simple and fast. Anyone who knows which end of a screwdriver to use should be able to do this repair.

7 screws, lowered the bottom and replaced the motor with two more screws. It was fairly easy and I'm pretty proud of myself.

The installers grouted in my above the top microwave so the bottom didn't hinge down as easily as it should have. But it worked.

Tyring to get bulb out i ruined the light socket. Unscrewed the bottom cover of microware. Took out screw holding light socket, removed wires to socket with pliers, intsalled new socket. It was a piece of cake and the part was a perfect match.

Because of it's age and my memory of it's wall installation problems, I was extremely happy to find the parts. Merely popped the old "fried " support bracket out, snapped it the two replacement brackets and I was back in business with a "new" spark free appliance. Thanks ever so much! Smooth, "no brainer" installation! Extremely pleased with results!

The delivery was lightening fast...which I didn't expect. Great service.

First I shut the circuit breaker off for the microwave.
I then removed the six screws on the full undermount. The motor was visible; it was simple to unscrew the 2 screws on the motor; pulled it away from the wire/plug and disconnected it.

It was just as simple to plug the new motor in, then screw the unit it place with the 2 screws.
That was it...just replaced the undermount and turned the cicuit breaker back on.

And to think GE said to buy a new one!

Told by appliance repair service that parts were very expensive and service call started at $80 minimum. Finding replacement motor on your site was very easy. Instructions on repair were very complete and included pictures of the motor itself which had same capacity as replacement motor. Before ordering part from PartSelect I followed the online instruction for repair/replacement of the Microwave table motor and it was exactly as described. Removed filters and 10 screws with a single Phillips head screw driver. Motor looked the same as picture and ordered it. Part arrived in 24 hours and it took 4 minutes to replace the motor from start to finish. Total costs including shipping was approx 40 dollars. Great service and great site. First I removed the 6 screws that hold the bottom of the microwave . I was able to see and get to the cooking tray drive motor. I removed the 2 screws and took out the motor. I replaced the motor and replaced all the screws. Started the microwave and it worked , no problem.

Removed screws from bottom of microwave. Had to invite my neighbor over to remove one of the screws... he used his impact drill.

Found out that the motor was working fine. It was the brown piece that the glass cooking tray sits on that was broken.

I had removed the glass tray and tried to pull out the brown piece...but, it wouldn't come out and so I assumed that it was intact and thought that the motor wasn't working.

It's great that it's so easy to return parts to PartSelect.

The repair was extremely easy. Remove seven screws in the bottom trim, slip the electrical connector off and remove the two screws holding the motor. Slide the new motor into position, replace the connector and screws.

As others have desribed - remove 5 screws from the bottom cover. Lower cover and replace turntable motor with 2 screws.

I thought this would be a major project but tured out to be very simple - 7 screws, 10 minutes and done.
